The Virtue of Seeking Knowledge

One day, the Holy Prophet (S) entered the mosque and found two groups there. One group was reciting the Qur'an and supplicating, while the other was learning and teaching.

He said:

"Both groups are engaged in good deeds. These people recite the Qur'an and call upon Allah. If Allah wills, He may grant them their requests or withhold them. The others are learning and teaching. Indeed, I was sent as a teacher."

Then he sat among them.

💠 A Pearl from Sahifa Sajjadia

I ask You by those whom You have singled out,
Your angels and the righteous among Your creatures,
to assign over us a protector
through which You will deliver us from destructions,
turn aside from us blights,
and hide us from the striking of great afflictions,
to send down upon us some of Your tranquility,
to wrap our faces in the lights of love for You,
to give us haven in Your strong pillar,
and to gather us under the wings of Your preservation!
By Your clemency and Your mercy!
O Most Merciful of the merciful!

أَسْأَلُكَ بِأَهْلِ خَاصَّتِكَ
مِنْ مَلائِكَتِكَ وَٱلصَّالِحِينَ مِنْ بَرِيَّتِكَ
أَنْ تَجْعَلَ عَلَيْنَا وَاقِيَةً
تُنْجِينَا مِنَ ٱلْهَلَكاتِ
وَتُجَنِّبُنَا مِنَ ٱلآفَاتِ
وَتُكِنُّنَا مِنْ دَوَاهِي ٱلْمُصِيبَاتِ
وَأَنْ تُنْزِلَ عَلَيْنَا مِنْ سَكِينَتِكَ
وَأَنْ تُغَشِّيَ وُجُوهَنَا بِأَنْوَارِ مَحَبَّتِكَ
وَأَنْ تُؤْوِيَنَا إِلَىٰ شَدِيدِ رُكْنِكَ
وَأَنْ تَحْوِيَنَا فِي أَكْنَافِ عِصْمَتِكَ
بِرَأْفَتِكَ وَرَحْمَتِكَ
يَا أَرْحَمَ ٱلرَّاحِمِينَ

Generosity is one of the noble traits possessed by prophets. It is a pillar of belief, such that a true believer is generous … the one who knows what he wants finds sacrificing and generosity to be easy.

السَّخَاءُ مِنْ أَخْلَاقِ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ وَ هُوَ عِمَادُ الْإِيمَانِ وَ لَا يَكُونُ مُؤْمِنٌ إِلَّا سَخِيّاً ... مَنْ عَرَفَ مَا قَصَدَ هَانَ عَلَيْهِ مَا بَذَلَ

💠 Imam Baqir (as) said;

Whoever goes to an unjust ruler and orders him to fear Allah, warns him, and admonishes him, will have a reward equal to that of the two weighty groups (al-thaqalayn) — the jinn and mankind — and the like (amount) of their deeds.
