How Should We Perform Our Prayers?

Imam al-Rida (as) said:

“If you stand up for prayer, try not to perform it with boredom, drowsiness, lassitude, and laziness. Rather, perform it with peace and poise, and it is upon you to be humble and submissive and be modest toward Allah so that humility and fear are made smooth to you. The time you are standing amid fear and hope and you are constantly calm in tranquility and watchful, stand in the presence of Lord of all created beings just like a run-away and sinful servant stands in the presence of his master. Set your feet next to each other, keep your body upright, and pay no attention to your left and right! Stand as if you see Allah, because although you do not see Him, He sees you.”

Imam Reza (as) said:

Faith means performing & discharging the obligatory duties & avoiding the committing of forbidden acts & faith is the recognition & knowing (Allah) through the heart & admitting & confessing through the tongue & practicing through the parts of body (physically).

💠 Denial and consent to denial

Aba Salt Hirawi asked Imam Reza (as);
“Why did God drown all people in the time of Noah, although there were innocents and children among them, too?”

"There were no children among them, as for forty years their progeny had discontinued; some perished for their denial and some for their consent to denial. Whoever is absent from an event but consents to it, is like someone present perpetrating it.”

💠 Patience and forbearance of Imam al-Mahdi (aj)

One of the prominent characteristics and spiritual excellence of His Eminence (aj) is patience and forbearance.
His Eminence (aj) is encountering more severe problems and calamities than faced by all the infallible Imams (as). During his prolonged life he has experienced many bitter incidents and great tragedies, which has made the Islamic world black and broken its limbs and the Muslim community with these pieces, is subjugated under the yoke of disbelievers and tyrants and struggling in that position.

Such types of different oppressions have become common in the world of Islam and the divine rules and laws have been rendered useless. The wealth of the Muslims has been plundered and they interfere in all the decisions of the Muslim nation and they force their own view upon them.

O my God: By the right of all those who have besought You
and by the right of all those who have prayed to You in the land and the sea

💠 Quran Light

And worship your Lord until the Certainty comes to you.

وَ اعْبُدْ رَبَّكَ حَتَّی يَأْتِيَكَ الْيَقِينُ

📖 Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 99

⚜️ It is cited in Majma‘-ul-Bayan that if Allah would say only: ‘worship the Lord’ and would not confine it to a certain limit in time, it was sufficient for man to worship Allah once and prove his servitude to Him. However, with this meaning, He convinces man to worship Allah as long as he is alive.

In conclusion, worshipping Him is the highest level of education; it provokes one’s thought and calls one’s way of thinking towards the endless boundaries.

It wipes out and washes away all the dust of sinfulness and negligence from one’s heart and soul, while inculcating supreme human values within him. It strengthens one’s faith and awareness, and makes one responsible in his affairs.

It is for this reason that it would be impossible to imagine that man might be needless of this great educational school for even one moment. Those who think man may reach a stage where he will be no more in need of worshipping, either have regarded man’s development as a limited process, or they have not grasped the full meaning of worshipping.
