Jafar as-Sadiq (A. S.) was one of the most patient and tolerant teachers of his time. He used to give lectures on Islamic theology every day. After his lectures, he would listen and reply to the objections of his students and critics. He had asked his students and critics, who attended his lectures, not to interrupt him during his lectures. They were quite free to ask him any question or raise any objection after the classes were over.

"A man from Qom invites people into the straight path. A group of people assemble to pledge allegiance to him who have iron-will and are not weakened by the strong winds. They have no fear of war and defence and they don't get tired of it. And upon Allah they rely."

مردی از اهالی قم، مردم را به سوی حق دعوت می کند. گروهی با او هم پیمان می شوند که مانند پاره های آهن هستند، بادهای تند قدم هایشان را نمی لغزاند، از نبرد و دفاع ترسی ندارند و از آن خسته نمی شوند، و توکلشان بر خدا است.
