Florida's Governor, Ron Desantis, together with Ministers, education officials, business leaders, law makers and the head of the state's tourism marketing agency arrived to Israel on Sunday on a trade mission.
So far, Desantis met with the Direcor General of the MFA to discuss ways to promote the friendship between Israel and Florida, and is expected to hold a cabinet meeting in Jerusalem & sign proclamations of support for Israel at the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem.

Several weeks after the Simien Mountain forest fire in Ethiopia, Israel MFA's Director General Yuval Rotem hosted a special meeting earlier this week, honoring the Israeli team of firefighters who took an important part in putting down the fire.

We mourn the loss of Nechama Rivlin, the wife of President Reuven Ruvi Rivlin.

Nechama dedicated her life to the State of Israel. Over the past few years, she promoted a range of important issues including the arts, environmental conservation, and the inclusion of those with special needs. Her compassion and love for her nation will be greatly missed.

Nechama is survived by her husband, her three children and seven grandchildren. We send President Rivlin and his entire family our deepest condolences during this difficult time. May her memory be a blessing.

MFA leads ECOSOC rejection of Shahed organization request to obtain UN observer status:

Under the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) overwhelmingly rejected the request of the Palestinian-Lebanese organization Shahed to obtain the status of an observer organization in UN institutions.

The resolution, initiated by the Israeli delegation to the United Nations against the granting of status, was adopted by an overwhelming majority of the members of the UN Economic and Social Council.

Shahed is a Palestinian organization based in Lebanon that claims to deal with human rights and humanitarian issues, but in practice is an organization that Israel has declared a terrorist organization and in fact operates as an arm of the Hamas terror organization in Lebanon.

Israel will continue to be vigilant and will continue to act against terrorist organizations that intend it harm.

The Iranian regime continues to deceive the international community and to develop military nuclear capabilities.

Iran's actions are a source of grave concern for the region and beyond.

Yesterday, the International Atomic Energy Agency confirmed that Iran has accelerated its production of enriched uranium, just as the Iranian regime threatened.

Iran is rapidly advancing its nuclear capabilities, These actions pose a serious threat to the region and beyond and must be stopped.
