A new survey by education giant Benesse Corporation revealed that โteacherโ has remained the most desired future career among Japanese high school students for ten consecutive years (2015โ2024). Analysts suggest this reflects the strong connection students feel toward educators, who play a close role in their daily lives.
The study was jointly conducted by Benesse Educational Research & Development Institute and the University of Tokyoโs Institute of Social Science, tracking the same group of parents and children since 2015. The 2024 online survey, carried out between July and September, gathered about 4,000 responses from elementary, junior high, and high school students.
