~ No one is perfect ~
Once in the presence of Abu Abd-Allah Imam Sadiq (عليه السلام) there were people speaking to him. One man mentioned the name of another man and he began to criticize him and complained against him.
Imam Sadiq (عليه السلام) said, "Where from can you have a perfect brother (in belief)? And which man is completely free and pure of faults and flaws?"

Narrated from Abu Abd-Allah Imam Sadiq (عليه السلام),
About the saying of Allah (عز وجل) - "O you who believe! enter into submission one and all and do not follow the footsteps of Shaitan." (2:208)
Imam (عليه السلام) said, "Do you know what is 'submission' (Salm)?"
I (the narrator) said, "You are most knowledgeable."
Imam (عليه السلام) said, "It is Mastership (wilayat) of Ali and the successor Imams after Him (عليهم السلام).
And by Allah ,'the footsteps of Shaitan refers to the mastership of Fulan and Fulan [referring to Abu Bakr & Umar]."

~ Where is Jibraeel ~
Narrated that Imam Ali (عليه السلام) was once on the pulpit of Basra when he said,
"O people, ask me before you lose me. Ask me about the paths of the heavens, for I know them better than the paths of the earth."
Then a man stood up from among the people and said,
"Where is Jibraeel at this moment?"
So the Imam glanced up at the sky, then glanced towards the east, then glanced towards the west, but he found no trace. So the Imam turned to the man and said, "O old man, you are Jibraeel."
Then that man took the form of a bird flapping its wings and flew away from between the people, and those present there raised their voice and said, "We testify that you are truly the successor of the Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله)."

From the letter of Imam Sadiq (عليه السلام) to the Shias:
"Whoever wishes to meet Allah as a true, sincere believer, let him take Allah, His Messenger, and those who believe [referring to the Imams] as his guardians (awliya'), and let him disavow [bara’t] their enemies before Allah. And let him submit to whatever reaches him of their [Imams] excellence [Fadhl], for their excellence cannot be attained by an intimately close angel, nor a sent Prophet, nor anyone below them.

The narrator says,
I said to Abu Abd Allah Imam al-Sadiq (عليه السلام):
"Indeed, I only meet you once every few years, so give me advice that I may hold firmly to."
The Imam said:
"I advise you to have God-consciousness [taqwa], restrain from sins [wara], and striving [in worship].
Beware of looking with longing to those who are above you [in worldly wealth and status]. Sufficient for this is what Allah (عز وجل) said to the Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله) - 'So let not their wealth nor their children impress you' (9:55), and He said: 'And do not extend your eyes toward that by which We have given enjoyment to [various] groups of them — the splendor of the worldly life' (Quran 20:131).
So if you fear [falling into] any of that, remember the lifestyle of the Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله): his food was merely barley, his sweet was dates, and his firewood was palm leaves — if he even found them.
And if you are struck by a calamity in your own self, your wealth, or your child, then remember your calamity in [the loss of] the Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله), for the creation has never been afflicted by the loss of anyone like him, ever."

Narrated that Imam Ali (عليه السلام) said,
"And we are the reservoirs of Allah's religion, and we are the lamps of knowledge. When one from among us passes away, another one appears. He who follows us will not go astray, and he who denies us will not be guided. He who helps our enemy against us will not find salvation, and he who forsakes/leaves us will not be helped.
Therefore, do not stay away from us for the greed of this world and temporary gains that are going away from you, as you are going away from them. For whoever prefers this world over the Hereafter and chooses the world over us, his regret will be immense tomorrow [Qayamah] - And that is the saying of Allah (عز وجل):
“Lest a soul should say, "Oh, my regret over what I neglected in regard to Allah, and I was indeed among those who mocked.” (39:56)

~ Those upon Wilayat ~
Narrated through a chain of trustworthy narrators that Abu Abd-Allah Imam Sadiq (عليه السلام) said,
O Malik, are you not satisfied that you establish the Prayer, and you give the Zakat, and you restrain yourself (from sins), and you will enter Paradise.
O Malik, there is no community that follows their Imams in this world but that on the day of judgement their Imams will curse them, and they will curse their imam - except you (Shias) and those upon similar belief like you.
O Malik, By Allah (عز وجل), the dead ones from among you who were upon this matter (Wilayah) are martyrs of the same status as the one who strikes with his sword in the Way of Allah.

~ Chapter: 7, Verse: 28 - Does Allah command to commit indecent acts ~
Narrated from Muhammad ibn Mansur who has said the following:
"I asked the Imam (as), about the words of Allah, "When they commit indecent [Fahash] acts they say, 'We found our fathers doing this and Allah has commanded us to do the same. Tell them that Allah does not command anyone to commit indecency. Do you speak for Allah, saying things of which you have no knowledge?" (7:28)
The Imam (as) asked, "Have you come across anyone who claims that Allah has commanded him to commit adultery, drink wine or other such unlawful things?"
I (narrator) said, "No."
The Imam (as) then asked, "What is this indecent [Fahash] act that they claim Allah has commanded them to do."
I said, "Allah knows best and His deputy."
The Imam (as) said, "This is regarding the unjust Imams (leaders without Divine Authority). They claim that Allah has commanded them to take these (unjust Imams) as the Imams while Allah has not given any command to anyone to follow such Imam. Allah, thus, has refuted them and has informed (others) that they have spoken lies against Him and that act is called an indecent one."
