Today, Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced a sweeping campaign to dismantle the threat posed by the International Criminal Court to U.S. sovereignty.

The campaign will feature a whole-of-government response to systematically disable the ICC’s ability to operate, target American servicemen or officials, or otherwise threaten American sovereignty.

Actions under consideration include:

- Diplomatic calls from the Secretary of State, Deputy Secretary, ambassadors, and other members of senior leadership to foreign nations highlighting the abuses of the ICC and the risks posed to Americans and other nations urging them to withdraw from the ICC.
- Nations that partner with American law enforcement and the U.S. military or that enjoy the benefits of the U.S. security umbrella are called upon to reject the ICC’s purported authority to prosecute American officials and servicemen
- Increased scrutiny of nations that refuse to reject the ICC’s false authority while relying on U.S. assistance
- Diplomatic calls urging other nations that, like America, that are not party to the Rome Statute to leverage their diplomatic networks to take similar actions alongside us
- Visa revocations and travel bans for ICC personnel
- Increased sanctions against the ICC and affiliated organizations

Can you guess what this is all about? This is not about the US, once more it’s about Israel.

No arrest warrants have ever been issued for U.S. soldiers or officials.

The United States spent decades championing the ICC when it was prosecuting leaders in the Balkans, Africa, and elsewhere. It praised “international justice” when the court’s targets aligned with Western foreign policy.

If an international court is only legitimate when it prosecutes your adversaries but becomes illegitimate the moment it investigates you or your closest allies, that’s the opposite of justice. It’s a commitment to selective enforcement.

The ICC website literally has Netanyahu's name as a DEFENDANT. Arrest warrant issued November 21, 2024. War crimes. Starvation as a weapon. Attacks on civilians.

Massie: I think what’s even more concerning is, in the NDAA, Section 219, which is going to start commingling our military supply chains and technology with Israel’s. It doesn’t make sense to do that with a country of 10 million people.

But they’ve got that in the NDAA. I’m told that’s not coming up this week, but we know it’s going to come up sometime—probably soon. So I’ve offered an amendment to strip Section 219—it was called Section 224—from that bill.
