Some Grammar Verbs

 1. 是 (shì) 

the verb “shi” (是), which is translated as the verb “to be” or “is”.

Basic sentence structure of Mandarin Chinese is the same as in English like:

SUB+ VERB+ OBJECT

subject + 是 (shì) + object.

Ex.
我吃苹果
wǒ chī píngguǒ
I eat apples.

她是老师 
tā shì lǎoshī
She is a student

2. 有 (yǒu) 

有 (yǒu) which comes as main verb. It means “to have” or “to possess”.
With 有, you can use nouns and adjectives as well.

Ex.
我有中饭
wǒ yǒu zhōngfàn
I have lunch.

我有生病
wǒ yǒu shēngbìng
I am sick

Example:

2.你们不是老师，我们也不是老师 。
Nǐmen bùshì lǎoshī, wǒmen yě bùshì lǎoshī.
(You are not teachers, we are also not teachers)

3.李军是中国人，刘明也是中国人。
Lǐ jūn shì zhōngguó rén, liú míng yěshì zhōngguó rén.
(Li Jun is Chinese, Liu Ming is also Chinese)
