The Urban Center, in collaboration with Deluxe Furniture, will host Informed Choices 3.0 on Saturday, 22 August 2026. Designed for Grade 12 students, first-year university students, and their parents or guardians, this half-day mentorship session aims to assist participants in making informed degree and career choices. Attendees will have the opportunity to interact directly with working professionals to discuss various fields and understand different career paths in practice.
The session will take place from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM, with doors opening at 1:30 PM. Admission requires advance registration along with a 200 ETB fee. Interested individuals can register online via the Microsoft Registration Form and submit a confirmation screenshot to @tuc_2026.

AAU Law Students Take Africa’s Top Spot, Advance to Global Final
Law students from Addis Ababa University have advanced to the global final of the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) Moot Court Competition after emerging as winners of the African regional round.
Competing for the first time in the challenging international investment law and arbitration moot, the Addis Ababa University team defeated 14 teams from across Africa, finishing first in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Their regional victory secures their place in the global final, where they will represent Africa on the international stage in one of the leading moot court competitions focused on foreign investment law and arbitration.

Ethiopian CyberShield 2026 is a Capture The Flag (CTF) cybersecurity competition focused on the theme "Towards A Secure Digital Ethiopia." Co-organized by SecureLabs IT Technologies, ALX Ethiopia, Yekolo Temari, and Gundancore, the week-long program is open to both beginners and cybersecurity professionals.
The event features a structured agenda that begins with bootcamps from 14 to 16 September, followed by Harden Day on 17 September. The remaining sessions include Red Team operations on 18 and 19 September, concluding with threat hunting and incident response activities on 20 September.
