today announced that the Union Cabinet has approved a 3% increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR), effective from 1 July 2026, providing relief against rising prices.
The decision will benefit 48 lakh+ Central Government employees and 68 lakh+ pensioners.

At an outlay of ₹7,395.55 crore, the scheme will be implemented from 2026-27 to 2030-31, placing the Gram Panchayat at the center of holistic local planning and coordination of development initiatives.

With the aim to establish a globally competitive container manufacturing ecosystem in India, the Union Cabinet has approved the Container Manufacturing Promotion Scheme (CMPS) with budgetary outlay of Rs.10,000 crore upto FY 2039-40.
