Katas Raj Temples
The Shri Katas Raj Temples is a complex of several Hindu temples connected to one another by walkways. The temple complex surrounds a pond named Katas which is regarded as sacred by Hindus. The complex is located in the Potohar Plateau region of Pakistan's Punjab province.
The temple's pond is said in the Puranas to have been created from the teardrops of Shiva, after he wandered the Earth inconsolable after the death of his wife Sati. The pond occupies the area of two kanals with a depth of 20 feet.
The temples play a role in the Hindu epic, the Mahabharata, where the temples are believed to have been the site where the Pandava brothers spent a significant portion of their exile. It is also believed by Hindus to be the site where the brothers engaged in a riddle contest with the Yakshas, as described in the Yaksha Prashna. Another tradition states that the Hindu deity Krishna laid the foundation of the temple, and established a hand-made Shivling in it.

Tilla Jogian
Tilla Jogian is an abandoned Hindu temple and monastic complex located on the summit of the Tilla Jogian mountain in the Salt Range of Pakistan's Punjab province. The temples are located at an altitude of 975m(3200ft.).
Tilla Jogian is popularly believed to have been a Hindu pilgrimage centre for at least 2000 years. The complex is said to have been established in 1st century BCE. The Kanphata Jogi, an ascetic order noted for its member's ear piercings, was founded by Guru Gorakhnath, and was centred at Tilla Jogian.
Tilla Jogian's importance as a Hindu pilgrimage centre attracted the founder of Sikh faith, Guru Nanak who meditated here for 40 days in the early 1500s. Later the complex was sacked and looted by the Pashtun king Ahmad Shah Abdali, during one of his several raids into Punjab.
Following Partition, most of the Hindus migrated to the Republic of India, abandoning the temples which remain neglected until present day & have just become a tourist spot.

#Sringeri gets its name from Rishi #Shringya, son of Rishi #Vibhandaka. In fact, the full name is #RishiShringra Giri, Giri meaning mountain.
#Sringeri, as we see it today, owes its history, heritage, and lineage to Adi #Shankaracharya. The town today revolves around the #Shardha #Temple and #Sharada_Peetham set up by him in 8th CE, with #Tunga River flowing between them.
