Royal procession and depiction of palace, Eastern gateway of great Stupa, Sanchi(Madhya Pradesh) Dated: 2-1st century BCE
Here main gate of fort is shown flanked by two towers(square and octagonal at another place) above which two Chhatari(pavilion) are placed. These are quite similar to Hathi Pol gate of Gwalior fort. In the background we can see the multi storied palace and watch tower(probably as it seems to be independently standing). Watch tower truncates as it rises and topped by a Chhatari(kiosk). Left side palace is interesting as it is multi storied and uppermost storey is shown having two Chhatari at corners(or may be four at corners) and mid portion is covered by barrel vaulted roof(similar to gopuram) and above it rest five Kalasha(sacred vase)/Ratna finials. To the left of gate we can see a Chhatari(pavilion) with a dome having ogee profile.

PUTTUR MAHALINGESHWARA, DAKSHIN KANNADA (Karnataka)
#bharatmandir
Shiva is worshipped here as Sri Mahalingeshwara.
Legends say that once a Sthanika Brahmin got a shivlingam from Kashi.
At Puttur, he placed this Shiva-Linga on the ground without any stand or seat for worship.

𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀𝗮 Murti of Bhagwan Shiv 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮.
A long-pending case of idol theft finally saw an important development as Natesa, a rare sandstone Murti in the 9th century Prathihara style of Rajasthan, is returning to the country after 22 years.
It is currently at the Indian High Commission, London, was originally from the Ghateswara Temple, Baroli, Rajasthan.
Stolen in 1998, the icon has had a tortuous journey to the present. The suspected thieves had replaced it with a fake and smuggled the original out of the country. Eventually, a London collector J. Kasmin, who had possession of it in 2003, handed it over to the Indian High Commission at the time.
This sandstone Natesa Murti stands tall at almost 4 feet in a rare & brilliant depiction of Shiva. A beautiful depiction of Nandi is shown behind the right leg of the Natesa Murti.
