Goddess Durga manifested herself, namely, Maha Saraswati, Maha Lakshmi and Maha Kali who are the active energies (Shakti) of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva respectively.
These three forms of Durga further manifested in three more forms each, and thus emerged the nine forms of Durga, which are collectively called Navadurga or Nine Durgas.

Shakti Durga as Mahishasuramardini, Gupta period- 401 CE.
Here Devi is shown uplifting the hind part of a buffalo or mahisa by holding its tail with her front left hand, and piercing its neck with a trisula held in her front right hand, while the Devi stands on the mahisasura’s neck with her right leg. This posture of the Devi exactly corresponds to the DeviMahatmya description of her:
Evamuktva samutpatya sarudha tam mahasuram |
Padenakramya kanthe ca sulenainamatadyayat - (III. 37 DM).

ऐतिहासिक जम्मू!
क्रिमची मंदिर (पांडव मन्दिर) केंद्र शासित जम्मू और कश्मीर में जम्मू संभाग के उधमपुर जिले में सात प्राचीन मंदिरों का एक परिसर है। यह उधमपुर से 12 किमी दूर ग्राम क्रिमची में स्थित है। मंदिरों के इस समूह को स्थानीय रूप से पांडव मंदिरों के रूप में जाना जाता है। किवदंती है कि अज्ञातवास के दौरान पांडव यहाँ बहुत समय तक रहे थे।
परिसर में चार बड़े और तीन छोटे मंदिर हैं। मुख्य मंदिर 50 फीट लंबा है और यह शिव, गणेश, विष्णु और पार्वती को समर्पित है।
मंदिर एक हजार साल से भी अधिक पुराने हैं। भारतीय पुरातत्व सर्वेक्षण के अनुसार इन मंदिरों का निर्माण 8 वीं या 9 वीं शताब्दी ईस्वी के दौरान किया गया था।
पौराणिक वृत्तांतों के अनुसार, मन्दिरों का निर्माण स्थानीय राजा किचक ने करवाया था।
