It is difficult to de addict yourself from the beauty and grandeur of the sculptures at Mamallapurma, near Chennai which is the abode of the excellence of the Pallava architecture. Here is a picture of the Nandi facing one of the Rathas. Although not ornamental like the other Nandis that one sees elsewhere in Tamil Nadu and parts of South India this one plain and simple yet so lifelike.

Many architectural wonders that eventually you start thinking there’s nothing in the world that can impress you anymore. Then you stumble upon something as magnificent as the Sanctuary of Truth, Pattaya, and your jaw drops to the ground.

The humongous wooden castle that looks like a building taken out of Alice’s wonderland is one of those things you just need to see at least once in your lifetime

Vishwakarma is the craftsman's deity and the divine architect of the gods. Also, known as Tvastar in earlier texts.

Interestingly Vishwakarma is shown holding various instruments including what looks like a Theodolite an instrument used for leveling before construction.

The Vishwakarma Statue at Chakreshwar Temple Nalasopara Maharashtra clearly shows one of the heads seeing through an optical device called Theodolite, used for engineering and land survey.

Other statues of Vishwakarma are shown holding instruments that we can only guess at.

Please give comments about these instruments on the pictures below.

This more or less comprehensively sums up the view of this majestic temple - an iconic creation of the Pallava era. A majestic creation of King Narasimhavarman, the second aka Rajasimhan - one of the greatest and the mightiest Pallava kings. Did not have this view with me and decided to go there and get this one recently. Unsurpassed, beauty, grandeur and excellence.

In the frame: The iconic Shore Temple, Mamallapuram, Tamil Nadu State, India.
