Tanzania has arrested 124 Burundian migrants in Dar es Salaam over alleged immigration violations.
Authorities said the arrests were made during an operation carried out in areas including Ubungo, Kigamboni, Ilala, Kariakoo, Msimbazi, Jangwani and Buguruni.
Officials said the operation targeted foreigners living in the country without following immigration procedures and warned that similar checks will continue.

The Government of Kenya has announced a 90-day window for foreign nationals conducting business in Kenya to regularise their immigration and licensing status, after President William Ruto directed that a Bill before Parliament be expanded to set clearer rules on who can participate in small-scale trade.
The government will carry out an orderly regularization exercise over the next 90 days, coordinated by relevant agencies in consultation with the embassies concerned, to give affected persons a structured opportunity to regularize their immigration status and business operations.
During that period, the requirements will be administered “fairly, consistently, and without discrimination.” At the end of the 90 days, immigration, work-permit, registration, and licensing rules will be enforced “firmly and strictly,” in accordance with the law and due process.

Detectives from DCI Buruburu have arrested 32 year old Kevin Odiwuor Otieno, also known as Engineer Kevin, over remarks allegedly targeting Burundian nationals living and working in Kenya.
The comments were made during a Bunge la Mwananchi event at Jacaranda Grounds in Kayole and later circulated on social media. He is expected to be arraigned in court over possible hate speech and ethnic incitement charges.

Detectives have arrested three suspects in Ruai over an alleged TikTok gang rape and robbery scheme targeting young women.
According to the DCI, Emanuel Bosire Arisa, Ismail Ouru Arisa and Brian Gatheru Nderitu allegedly operated an anonymous TikTok account which they used to contact women and arrange meetings before leading them to secluded or abandoned areas, where they were allegedly sexually assaulted and robbed.
Some victims were allegedly forced to transfer money through M Pesa, while others lost mobile phones and other valuables. Detectives recovered six mobile phones and two hooded jackets during the arrests.
The DCI says the three suspects have been positively identified by five victims in separate cases reported in Buruburu, Embakasi and Ruai. Investigations are continuing to trace other possible victims and people who may be linked to the alleged network.

A 32 year old woman, Mercy Maina Wachinga, was found dead inside her apartment in Lavington, Nairobi, weeks after she was last seen alive.
Mercy, who lived alone on the 10th floor of Forhome Court, was last seen around August 10. Her body was discovered on September 3 after neighbours and building staff raised concern over a strong smell coming from her locked apartment.
Police officers were called and gained entry into the house, where she was found lying on her bed in an advanced state of decomposition.
A charcoal cooking stove was also found in the bedroom, while three locked mobile phones were recovered.
Police are treating the death as a suspected s as investigations continue. Mercy is also said to have left a note detailing her wishes, including that she be remembered with love, that some of her belongings go to her mother, and that she be cremated with her ashes placed in a river.
