Police have discovered a three acre bhang plantation hidden among food crops in Kakongo Village, Mwingi Central, Kitui County. About 2,000 kg of bhang valued at roughly KSh 60 million was recovered and destroyed, according to police. Officers also found solar panels, water pumps, weighing scales, farming tools and fertiliser believed to have been used at the farm.

Koala Japan, a mattress company, has unveiled a unique contest called "Matt Race by Koala". The event, scheduled for October 5, 2026, will take place at Share Green Minami Aoyama in Tokyo and promises to reward the art of sleeping with a grand prize of ¥2.22 million (about Ksh. 1.8 million).
The competition is centered on 90‑minute sleep races, where participants lie down on Koala mattresses and attempt to achieve the best quality sleep within the set time.
