Ibrahim Traore of Burkina Faso is sending a clear message to those carrying out foreign Espionage against the country.
In a statement he delivered during a live media broadcast on September 27, 2026, He warned that any foreign spy or local collaborator caught conducting espionage against Burkina Faso will face the death penalty.
Traoré stated that Burkina Faso will not repeat what he described as past mistakes, when foreign agents accused of spying for certain foreign governments were arrested but later expelled. He warned that “the era of mercy has passed.”
He accused some foreign intelligence networks of hiding behind diplomatic missions to carry out espionage activities inside the country.
He specifically pointed to France, saying Burkina Faso decided to cut diplomatic ties with Paris because the French government was allegedly working against Burkina Faso’s security interests and supporting groups accused by Ouagadougou of seeking to destabilize the country.
What’s your opinion on this , Do you Ibrahim Tr
