The key question: do your requests belong to one continuous session, or can they run independently?

🔗 Use sticky sessions for connected steps
Examples:

➡️ Testing login → account → logout.
➡️ Checking cart → checkout.
➡️ Navigating a website while preserving one session.

Keeping the same IP removes one source of inconsistency during the flow.

Common snags:

🔍 The IP changes before the task finishes. Check the sticky-session duration and whether your integration reuses the same proxy session identifier.
🔍 The session still resets. Check your cookies and browser context. A sticky IP doesn’t preserve browser data for you.
🔍 Parallel tests interfere with each other. Give independent workflows their own proxy sessions and browser contexts.

⌛ Use rotation for independent requests
Examples:

➡️ Monitoring public prices across product pages.
➡️ Collecting public listings across categories.
➡️ Running separate availability checks.

Rotation fits tasks where each request can succeed without continuing the previous request’s session.

Common snags:

🔍 Login or checkout breaks between steps. Move that connected flow to a sticky session.
🔍 Requests still get rate-limited. Reduce concurrency, add retry backoff, and respect Retry-After when provided. Changing IPs doesn’t remove a site’s limits.
🔍 Results vary unexpectedly. Keep location settings consistent and compare the same URLs and request parameters. Check whether cookies are changing the content you receive.

⚠️ One final check: rotating your IP doesn’t clear cookies or browser storage. Manage those separately when your task needs fresh browser state.
