For the first time in 20 years of polling, more Americans say they sympathize with Palestinians (41%) than with Israelis (36%).
Before October 2023, public opinion looked very different, with 55% of Americans expressing sympathy for Israelis, compared with 26% for Palestinians.
The shift is also visible among younger Republicans, with 57% of those aged 18 to 49 now holding an unfavorable view of Israel amid its ongoing genocide in Gaza.
