"Nothing pains me more, frankly, than to see one of the most technologically advanced countries to be left so far behind in technology.
And I think the reason for that is this: maybe it's the European way to overthink everything.
Germany has so much talent. Just get to work." https://x.com/rowlsmanthorpe/status/2111009730885743102/video/1

Egypt's parliament pushed its vote on authorizing Sisi to send military support to Saudi Arabia to October 26.
Most lawmakers backed the move in closed emergency sessions Sunday and Monday, though some wanted more detail on the army's role. A two-thirds majority is required under the constitution.
Sisi says any deployment would be defensive and only on a Saudi request. Riyadh has not made one publicly.

A truck loaded with roughly 800 kg of explosive material, nails and metal balls was confiscated yesterday by Lebanese security mechanisms while moving from the Baalbek area to Beirut.
The two men driving it are Hezbollah members. In interrogation they said a Hezbollah senior named Sayed Sajad asked them to bring the cargo to another senior in the organization who is staying in Dahiyeh.
Security mechanisms are now working to identify the other Hezbollah members tied to the shipment. All of this is unfolding while negotiations are underway.

Pakistan’s principal decision-maker, Field Marshal Asim Munir, is reportedly heading to Tehran, Iran this week, according to some regional news outlets, amidst the threat of imminent U.S.-Iran escalation.
Since the start of the war, Pakistan has positioned itself as a mediator, but has struggled to realize the level of success in the role that other regional nations, like Qatar and Oman, have.
This comes as Iran increasingly targets vessels in the Strait of Hormuz to gain back lost leverage and the likelihood of U.S. President Donald J. Trump authorizing expanded strikes on Iran in the near term rises.

At the Crimea Global conference, Dmytro Usov from Ukraine's POW Coordination Headquarters revealed that nearly 46,000 foreigners from 151 countries have contracted with Russia to fight Ukraine. According to him, this figure reflects the number of individuals whose personal data the Headquarters has identified as being recruited by the Russians. The agency is currently verifying contract signing dates for an additional 668 people.
"While in 2022 we recorded 94 signed contracts, this number continues to grow year after year. The Russian Ministry of Defense planned for 18,500 contracts with foreigners, and 16,168 have already been signed. In other words, if this trend continues, the ministry is on track to fully meet or even exceed its goal for recruiting foreign nationals into the Russian Armed Forces." - Usov said.
He also noted that top countries supplying recruits to Russia include Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Belarus, Colombia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Kyrgyzstan. Furthermore, in the first nine months of 2026, the Headquarters observed a significant surge in recruits from Indonesia, Peru, Sierra Leone, Burundi, Chad, the Philippines, Congo, and Panama.
