“Russians are not winning on the battlefield. That is why they want to use every possible form of pressure to force us off our own land. This is unfair. We cannot abandon our country, our homes. This is our children’s future. That is why we say we will stay where we stand,” Zelensky said.
The Ukrainian president also expressed support for diplomacy and the ceasefire proposed by Donald Trump.
“Let’s move to diplomacy. The ceasefire proposed by the President of the United States is an excellent idea,” he said, stressing that Ukraine needs peace to bring home the 9.5 million people he said have been displaced and are living abroad, allowing them to rebuild their lives and their country.

US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth arrived unannounced at Ovda Airbase yesterday to visit American soldiers stationed in Israel. Netanyahu and Defense Minister Katz joined him. The meeting ran about an hour and a half and wrapped around 21:00.
Iran was the central issue. IDF Chief of Staff Zamir and other senior officers were kept out, leaving it to the political echelons alone.
A security source: "There will be no avoiding a resumption of the campaign against Iran in the future, but it appears this will not happen before Israel's elections and the US midterm elections."
No UAE representatives took part, contrary to reports.

Kremlin foreign policy adviser Yuri Ushakov said U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff had presented new European and Ukrainian approaches to ending the war, but Moscow found little value in them.
“Witkoff outlined the new approaches of the Europeans and Kyiv to resolving the conflict, but there is little useful in them,” Ushakov said.
He also claimed that Vladimir Putin had given Witkoff an “objective picture” of the battlefield, insisting that Russian forces now hold the initiative across the front. That remains Moscow’s assessment, not an independently established account of the fighting.
