An Iranian sanctioned tanker spent 73 hours nearly stationary off Muscat, near several critical undersea cables, despite carrying no cargo.
The area includes the Oman Australia Cable, a roughly $300 million project reportedly funded in part by the Pentagon, with a connection to the strategically important Diego Garcia military base.
10 days later, a senior Iranian official warned that regional undersea cables could be targeted.
Was this reconnaissance ahead of a potential attack on critical communications infrastructure?

Windward tracked an OFAC-sanctioned tanker slow from 11kn to under 1kn exactly where three subsea cable corridors converge off Muscat (AAE-1, Bay of Bengal Gateway, and 2Africa). In ballast, no cargo, no reason to stop.
It drifted there 73 hours in calm seas, engine off, then left at 10-11kn. Its AIS destination flipped the moment it slowed, and briefly logged China mid-drift.
Ten days later, a senior Iranian official warned the region's cables could be targeted if the war escalates. - Windwardtweet

BIG | 🇪🇪🇹🇷🇷🇺‼️‼️ NATO currently sees no immediate threat of a Russian attack against allied territory, but remains prepared to respond to any signs of Russian military preparations, Secretary General Mark Rutte has stated.
Asked whether Russia might consider attacking a NATO member, Rutte said the alliance does not currently believe such an attack is imminent, emphasizing that any Russian troop buildup would trigger an appropriate response. Meanwhile, NATO highlighted Türkiye’s role in defending Estonian airspace. According to the alliance, Turkish fighter jets stationed at Ämari Air Base scrambled on September 1 after a drone crossed Estonia’s border, demonstrating the readiness of NATO’s Baltic Air Policing mission.
Rutte’s assessment suggests that NATO distinguishes between Russia’s broader military threat and evidence of an imminent attack on allied territory. The Turkish deployment in Estonia also demonstrates how the alliance maintains operational readiness along its eastern flank, combining continuous air surveillance with rapid interception capabilities to deter and respond to potential violations.

BIG | 🇬🇧🇺🇦🇺🇸‼️‼️ British Prime Minister Andy Burnham has pledged to help repair relations between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and U.S. President Donald Trump, seeking to restore cooperation and strengthen Western support for Ukraine.
According to The Guardian, Burnham made the remarks ahead of a planned meeting with Zelenskyy at Downing Street, following renewed criticism of the Ukrainian president by Trump. Burnham said his priority was to rebuild relations carefully and create the conditions for the two leaders to move closer together. He also reaffirmed Britain’s commitment to supporting Ukraine against Russian aggression. Zelenskyy is additionally expected to meet King Charles III during his visit, a meeting that could carry diplomatic significance given the monarch’s relationship with Trump.
Britain’s diplomatic efforts reflect concerns that tensions between Washington and Kyiv could undermine Western coordination at a critical stage of the war. Restoring cooperation between Trump and Zelenskyy would help preserve transatlantic unity and reduce the risk of political disagreements weakening Ukraine’s position against Russia.

RT @NSTRIKE1231: BIG | 🇺🇦🇬🇧‼️ Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has met with King Charles III of the United Kingdom, in another high-profile royal engagement amid renewed tensions between Kyiv and Donald Trump’s administration.
The meeting recalls Zelensky’s previous audience with the British monarch on March 2, 2025, just two days after his confrontation with Trump and Vice President JD Vance in the Oval Office. That encounter came at a particularly sensitive moment in U.S.-Ukrainian relations. The latest meeting similarly places Zelensky alongside a prominent British figure as disagreements with Washington continue.
🔥 Although King Charles holds a constitutional rather than executive role, his public reception of Zelensky carries diplomatic symbolism. It reinforces the visibility of British support for Ukraine at a time when Kyiv faces pressure from Washington. Claims that the monarch can directly influence Trump’s decisions, however, remain speculative.

RT @NSTRIKE1231: BIG | 🇺🇦🇷🇺‼️ Ukraine’s 3rd Assault Brigade, associated with the Azov formation, says its forces killed or captured 19 Russian officers in just one week during ongoing offensive operations.
According to Datsyk, commander of the brigade’s 2nd Assault Battalion, the results came during the third phase of the 3rd Army Corps’ Operation Vivaldi. He said Russian forces deployed reserves from the Black Mamba unit near the village of Nove. A Russian assault detachment commander known by the callsign “Marshal” allegedly abandoned his troops and attempted to flee but failed to escape. Datsyk also claimed that Ukrainian assault units killed approximately 120 Russian soldiers during the fighting. These figures have not been independently verified.
🔥 If confirmed, the reported losses among Russian officers could disrupt battlefield coordination and weaken command structures in the affected units. The deployment of additional Russian reserves also suggests that Moscow is attempting to contain Ukrainian offensive pressure in this sector.

RT @georgewbarros: Ukraine operationally defeated Russia's effort to encircle the fortress belt via a northern pincer by destroying the Lyman salient.
3rd Army Corps overran Russian positions with tanks and mechanized infantry after neutralizing the Russian drone wall, demonstrating that Ukraine can restore elements of tactical maneuver to the battlefield after creating necessary prerequisite conditions.
Ukraine has blunted Russia's rate of advance this year and reduced to literal footpace with Russia's average rate of advance between 1.5-1.7 square kilomters per day, at the cost of losing well over over 1,000 killed and wounded per day.

Ukraine has no battlefield momentum. They’ve made 2 moves. 2. There’s zero indication Kiev is gaining across the front lines and is generally a net loser in territorial exchanges.

RT @NSTRIKE1231: BREAKING | 🇺🇦🇺🇸‼️ Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has sharply criticized Elon Musk over the reported blocking of Starlink services, warning that the disruption could cost Ukrainian lives.
During an interview with journalist Piers Morgan, Zelensky described the decision as a major mistake. Asked whether people were dying because of it, he responded that lives would certainly be lost. Zelensky claimed that SpaceX and the United States blocked Starlink at approximately 1 a.m. and argued that those responsible understood the potential consequences. Addressing Musk directly, he called for Starlink connectivity to be restored. The circumstances and responsibility for the reported shutdown have not been independently verified.
🔥 Starlink connectivity plays an important role in Ukrainian military communications, making disruptions potentially dangerous during active combat operations. Zelensky’s remarks highlight the risks of relying on communications infrastructure controlled by external providers, particularly when access becomes entangled in political disagreements.

BIG | 🇺🇦🇺🇸🇷🇺‼️‼️ Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says he feels betrayed by Donald Trump’s decision to announce an energy ceasefire and a Russian diesel agreement with Vladimir Putin, accusing the American president of siding with Moscow rather than Ukraine.
In an interview with Piers Morgan, Zelenskyy expressed frustration over what he described as the loss of a powerful partner, insisting that Ukraine would never trade away its sovereignty. He said it was painful to see Trump choose a side that was not Ukraine’s, adding that Kyiv could accept Washington remaining neutral, but not shifting toward Russia. Zelenskyy also criticized Trump’s advisers, suggesting they were steering the president in the wrong direction and warning that such decisions were not on the right side of history.
Zelenskyy’s remarks reveal deepening tensions between Kyiv and Washington over the direction of U.S. policy toward Russia. Any agreement that eases economic pressure on Moscow without securing meaningful concessions risks weakening Ukraine’s negotiating position and providing Russia with additional resources to sustain its war.

@ChrisO_wiki It is a violation of commercial Starlink terms of service to use the terminal for weapon systems. This applies to all users and is shut down when discovered.
