During our meeting, Russia launched yet another vile drone strike on Ukrainian energy infrastructure in Lutsk. There are power outages in the city. Unfortunately, this kind of blatant and vile Russian terror has been taking place almost constantly these days. Russia has demonstratively disregarded the American President’s proposal for an energy ceasefire. And now it is taking advantage of problems with Starlink operations to cause maximum destruction to everything that sustains everyday life.
Emmanuel and I discussed various ways to counter this. In particular, new packages to strengthen our combat aviation will be provided this month. We are also accelerating work on European anti-ballistic defense – FREYJA needs to become operational by the end of the year. I am grateful to Emmanuel – all the weaponry production licenses France promised Ukraine have already been obtained. It is important to implement this promptly at the team level. Thank you, France!

RT @targettopoli: Non è il mio governo. Non ho votato @GiorgiaMeloni e le distanze su tanti temi restano tutte. Ma ieri, in Parlamento, la Presidente del Consiglio ha pronunciato sull'Ucraina e sulla politica estera un discorso per nulla banale e assolutamente condivisibile.
Chiaro nei principi, solido negli argomenti, senza ambiguità su da che parte deve stare l'Italia. Un discorso che la colloca a pieno titolo tra le leadership più autorevoli d'Europa, per chiarezza e spessore. E molte sono state le reazioni internazionali al discorso di ieri.
La politica seria è anche saper riconoscere i meriti altru, soprattutto quando in gioco ci sono la libertà di un popolo aggredito e la credibilità internazionale del nostro Paese.
Se fosse stato per gente come Conte, che ha sempre avuto un occhio di riguardo verso Mosca, oggi probabilmente avremmo militari russi liberi di muoversi sul nostro territorio.
Lo abbiamo già visto nel 2020, con i convogli dell'esercito russo in giro per la Lombardia.
Nel Campo Largo dovrebbero riflettere su questo.
