BIG | 🇺🇦🇷🇺🇧🇾‼️‼️ Belarus could become a new launch platform for Russian ballistic missile attacks against western Ukraine, bringing Moscow’s strike capabilities closer to Ukrainian cities and critical infrastructure.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned that Russia is planning to deploy ballistic missiles and other weapons on Belarusian territory with the support of Alexander Lukashenko. He also revealed that Russian forces are installing signal relay systems in Belarus to facilitate drone operations through its airspace and intensify attacks on Ukraine. According to Zelenskyy, Moscow considers these measures insufficient and is seeking Minsk’s cooperation for additional weapons deployments.

Deploying ballistic missiles in Belarus could significantly reduce warning times for parts of western Ukraine and force Kyiv to adjust its air defense coverage. Combined with expanded drone operations, such a deployment would increase pressure on Ukrainian defenses and deepen Belarus’s involvement in Russia’s military campaign, even without Belarusian troops directly entering the war.

RT @AnalyticaCamil1: Yes and no, right?

They largely stopped sending new armor to their units deployed in Ukraine several years ago (preferring instead to send them kit pulled from their deep stockpile and from refurbishment lines) as a pretty conscious decision. That wasn’t solely because they were concerned that it’d get chewed up in a Ukrainian woodchipper — the Kremlin wanted to preserve its strength for another woodchipper.

Let's try feeding it into the Tank Army Deleter 9000 (Improved Model with Air Support & More HIMARS than God and A Grudge to Settle While Advancing Along Obvious Routes) instead."

RT @yarotrof: “This is a deliberate operation... to restrict us, cut us off, and prevent us from defending ourselves and protecting our people, both at the front and among the civilian population."
Other government clients of SpaceX, take note.

Zelensky says SpaceX continues to sabotage Ukrainian efforts to defend cities from jet-engine Russian drones following the spat with Trump. While Starlink-guided Ukrainian drones have been capped at 160 km/h speeds inside Ukraine, the same drones tested by Ukrainian personnel can fly at above 180 km/h in EU airspace, he says.

RT @michaeldweiss: To put this in laymen's terms, Musk and Trump are now hobbling Ukraine's ability to protect its civilian population from a type of Russian drone that functions more like a cruise missile. This is not the United States adopting a neutral position vis-a-vis the war. This is the United States facilitating Russian terror.

Ukraine's Starshield terminals still don't work properly, President Zelensky confirms, disabling Ukrainian interceptors used to shoot down Russian jet-powered drones that have been hitting civilian targets in recent weeks.

RT @michaeldweiss: "According to analysis conducted by the Financial Times, 24 ships were hit in the two weeks to 11 October, the most intense period of attacks in the entirety of the war. It is almost double the second worst period, when in the first two weeks of the war in March, 13 ships were hit. 'Iran may be developing its anti-ship missile capabilities to improve its ability to target vessels,' the Institute for the Study of War said."

Bet you'll never guess who's helping Iran develop its anti-ship missile capabilities...

The Strait remains perilous, oil hits $100 a barrel, and the country helping America's adversary in the Gulf gets sanctions lift, while the country helping to protect U.S. forces there from drone attacks gets its air defense system degraded. https://uk.news.yahoo.com/disturbing-normal-strait-hormuz-attacks-091051600.html

BIG | 🇺🇦🇺🇸‼️‼️ Ukraine’s battlefield communications may be caught in a dangerous political power struggle between Donald Trump and Elon Musk. Kyiv is struggling to determine who is responsible for restrictions affecting Starlink and Starshield, raising serious questions about Washington’s reliability as a military partner.

According to Axios, a Ukrainian official said SpaceX publicly attributes the restrictions to technical problems, while contacts inside the company point to the White House. When Kyiv approaches the administration, officials reportedly blame Musk instead. The Telegraph previously reported that Musk personally proposed limiting the satellite services, while an Axios source familiar with the discussions said Trump raised no objections. The White House denies that Trump or his administration restricted Starlink service and insists the system continues operating.

Any politically motivated disruption of satellite communications would have serious consequences for Ukraine’s defense. Starlink and Starshield support critical military communications, drone operations, and battlefield coordination. Restrictions could undermine Ukrainian combat effectiveness and increase risks for soldiers and civilians. If Washington deliberately permitted such limitations, it would represent a deeply damaging decision at a time when Ukraine depends on reliable Western military support.

This ….

Another wildly overmediatised day of social unrest in France, with a whole range of grievances on display.
Keep in mind that you’ll probably see footage of urban riots bordering on insurrection along the Paris demonstration route, which leads to Place de la Nation, a square that, for all practical purposes, seems to exist solely to host clashes every Saturday of the year.
Meanwhile, just bear in mind that everywhere else in the capital, life will carry on as if nothing were happening. A perfectly ordinary Parisian Saturday, with packed café terraces, tourists everywhere, and not the slightest hint that the French republic is apparently on the verge of collapse just a few streets away.
