Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi confirmed he will leave office by 2030 and said no family member or relative is being groomed to succeed him.
"I'm saying this more than 40 months in advance so that no one can claim I'm preparing someone from my family or relatives to take over. No, no, no. Nothing like that. This is a very big country, and such things cannot happen here."

El-Sisi says Egypt has roughly 43 months left until 2030, and he wants that time used to build a political class.
Holders of doctorates from top Egyptian and foreign universities, whether 200, 300, 500 or 1,000 of them, would spend 30 months at the Academy studying what a state is, what its capabilities and resources are, and how to preserve them.
A mechanism overseen by the speaker of parliament, trusted intellectuals, politicians, the minister of higher education and the minister of justice would manage it. Egyptians would then elect from among that elite. - Open Source Inteltweet

Ukraine can't confirm its Starshield satellite internet is fully back to normal, Ukraine's charge d'affaires in the US Denys Senik tells Radio Liberty. The Pentagon and SpaceX still haven't responded on lifting speed limits, and Ukraine has seen connection drop at speeds over 160 km/h, suggesting the October 14 restrictions remain in place.

RT @ZelenskyyUa: Sanctions relief will continue. I think the diesel deal and the move regarding the Lindsey Graham Act are not the end of it. Unfortunately.
It’s unfortunate because we all had great respect for Lindsey. He devoted his life to America. We had an excellent relationship with him. And shortly before the tragedy, Lindsey was in Ukraine. He always supported us very strongly and pushed for as much assistance to Ukraine as possible.
It’s difficult without him, I’ll be honest. I want to thank both Democrats and Republicans who supported his bill. That was a major victory: this truly bipartisan support. And now, the decision to undo all of this, to block all of it, seems wrong to me. And it definitely helps only the Russians. It only fuels their satisfaction and their desire to keep killing people. This certainly does not stop the war.

BIG | 🇺🇸‼️‼️ President Donald Trump is reportedly growing frustrated with Republicans’ deteriorating prospects in the upcoming congressional midterm elections, blaming senior advisers as internal tensions intensify within his political team.
According to Reuters, Trump has criticized campaign spending, congressional redistricting efforts, and candidate selection decisions. He has questioned why $200 million spent by a pro-Trump Super PAC failed to improve Republican polling numbers. The president is also dissatisfied that his push to redraw electoral districts, particularly in Texas, has not delivered a clear Republican advantage. Tensions reportedly involve political adviser James Blair and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, with administration officials shifting responsibility for the party’s difficulties onto one another.
The reported disputes highlight growing concerns within Trump’s political operation ahead of the midterms. Disagreements over campaign strategy, spending, and candidate selection could complicate Republican efforts to defend their congressional position. The outcome will also have significant implications for Trump’s ability to advance his domestic and foreign policy agenda during the remainder of his presidency.

IRGC General Bagherzadeh:
Statements made by Qatar regarding the Iranian pilots (during Iran’s interior minister’s trip to Qatar) are absolutely not convincing.
The fact that a 2nd expert team was sent to Qatar, means that the first team had reached certain facts in its investigations and that the statements and claims of the Qatari authorities, at least for our expert team, were not reassuring and did not convince them.

UPDATE: Qatar denies claims it detained Iranian pilots, calling them misleading.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Dr. Majed Al Ansari says the pilots violated Qatari airspace and ignored communication attempts before Doha acted "to defend our territory." Qatar's search teams recovered one pilot's remains and coordinated the handover with Iran.

NEW: The UAE has agreed to re-enter the Yemen conflict, resuming payments to some government forces fighting the Iran-aligned Houthis in the south. Saudi Arabia will provide air cover for the anti-Houthi force in return, sources in Yemen said.
The arrangement is the first tangible sign the Saudi-Emirati rift over Yemen's future is narrowing, driven by Houthi advances that have alarmed rival Gulf rulers.

BREAKING | 🇷🇴🇷🇺‼️‼️ Romanian Air Force F-16 fighter jets have shot down two drones over the Black Sea after they entered Romania’s airspace, marking a serious airspace security incident involving a NATO member state.
According to Romanian media, the country’s Ministry of National Defence confirmed that the incident occurred on Saturday at approximately 6:00 p.m. local time. The ministry stated that Romanian F-16 pilots successfully intercepted and destroyed both drones. The origin and operators of the aircraft have not been established in the information released.
The interception highlights the growing importance of air defense readiness along NATO’s eastern flank, particularly in the Black Sea region. The destruction of two drones inside Romanian airspace demonstrates Bucharest’s willingness to enforce its airspace security, while the incident raises concerns about the risk of further aerial incursions and unintended escalation.

Netanyahu to i24NEWS on the Iranian threats:
"Am I concerned for my own safety? They explicitly state that they want to eliminate me, as well as other senior officials. We will do everything necessary; and to this moment, it is we who have eliminated them, not the other way around."
On the elections:
"They want to disrupt and influence the elections. Everyone is saying Netanyahu must lose. All of Israel's enemies are united on this. There will also be attempts to interfere in the elections and create security incidents to undermine our achievements. If this happens, the response will be very harsh."

RT @michaeldweiss: Always remember, Dmitriev stole tens of millions of dollars from the Russian taxpayer to buy luxury properties in Monaco, France and Russia, using Cypriot offshore financial entities registered in his relatives' names. Lifting sanctions benefits him and his wife Natalya Popova directly.
Here is Navalny's Anti-Corruption Foundation: "The total value of Dmitriev and Popova's French properties is 16 million euros, or one and a half billion rubles."
Dmitriev is subject to EU sanctions. (He's also subject to U.S. sanctions, though they're waived to let him travel to Miami on a regular basis.) He'd love nothing more than for Trump to force a dismal deal on Ukraine that gets these sanctions lifted. Perhaps a future House inquiry into Kushner and Witkoff's pay-to-play diplomacy can delve into this under-discussed aspect of the Russian side of ongoing "peace" negotiations. https://blog.navalny.com/p/6683/

Putin's envoy Kirill Dmitriev is celebrating Trump's suspension of sanctions against Russia, calling it a "truly historic moment."
Dmitriev also says Russia and the US are exploring cooperation on data centres.
This looks like another Kremlin scheme to lure Trump into pressuring Ukraine to stop striking Russian data centres, including Yandex facilities.
Moscow knows exactly how to exploit Trump's obsession with business deals. They're truly playing him like a fiddle. - Vatnik Souptweet
