10,033 abortions were carried last year with one in six pregnancies ending in abortion — the highest number yet.

🔹 129 terminations were carried out due to a fatal fetal abnormality.
🔹 The remaining 9,876 abortions were voluntary terminations.
Before the legalisation of abortion in in 2018, it was estimated 3,000 to 4,000 women from Ireland traveled to Britain each year for abortion services.
According to 2016 statistics, of the 3,500 women who traveled to Britain for abortion services, 2,500 were Irish.
A Rally For Life will take place at 1:30pm this Saturday, July 6th, beginning at Parnell Square.
