Can everyone now please stop claiming there are 14,000 homeless Irish people to make the case against infinity asylum seekers.
We were told in 2022 that 30 - 40 per cent of people registering as homeless each month are recently arrived immigrants, with Roma identified as accounting for an unspecified "large volume".
Now new data reveals that in January of this year, 48 per cent of adults in emergency accommodation were counted as non-Irish citizens, with that proportion increasing to 56 per cent in Dublin. We're not told what additional contingent are foreigners with Irish citizenship.
Last year a Eurofound study showed that some 40 per cent of Irish people aged 25 to 34 are in employment but still living with their parents (~400,000).
35 per cent of this age group said they plan to move to another country and another 26 per cent said they would like to move β the highest levels in the EU.
Meanwhile 149,200 immigrants arrived in Ireland just last year.
That's the crisis.

Hereβs the housing crisis: Landlords have long figured out they can cram 20β30 English-school visa-mill students into one family home for β¬10,000/month rent.
Irish people are not only competing with these students to rent properties but also with investment funds to purchase themβas a high return is guaranteed so long as infinity foreigners keep arriving.
Unlike the UK, Ireland lacks maximum occupancy guidelines, and a loophole allows the students to be classified as temporary βlicenseesβ of the property rather than tenants, avoiding tenancy rights issues. One property fund, called Vestry General Partner, owns 250 such properties.
Chinese investors are pouring huge sums into Dublin real estate, with many also having been attracted by the offer of a pathway to citizenship for investing. One Hong Kong group owns more than β¬58M in Irish properties.
This basic supply-and-demand issue is by designβand those opposed to restricting demand bear full responsibility for the crisis.

"Feels like Ireland is going to be worse than Canada."βIndian students are now advising other Indians not to move to Ireland.
Complaints in a reddit thread for Indian students highlight high rents, exorbitant living costs, scarce part-time jobs, and sluggish transport, compounded by rising anti-immigrant sentiment as overcrowding strains resources. Another complaint warns of limited opportunity to interact with non-Indians as Indians dominate computer science courses:
πΉ "Accommodation: Very hard to find and way too expensive.(min 500 euro for a shared space+ bills)"
πΉ "Part time work: there is literally nothing available. Nothing!! Even those who have been working for 6-7 months are laid off all of a sudden..saying there is no demand."
πΉ "Cost of living: Groceries: are fine, affordable i guess but everything else is expensive, even gum. There are very few things that u can buy for a euro or less. Onions maybe. Forget about eating out, nothing compares in taste and waste of money."
πΉ "It is a slow phased life here. Public transport is slow basically everything is slow. All shops starts to close by 5, not much place to hang after that.."
πΉ "I feel stuck here, there is only so much to do and so much to go. When i talk to my friends in other countries, things seem to be better for them."
πΉ "Feels like Ireland is going to be worse than Canada. All of a sudden, in the past few years, these immigration agents have sent thousands of Indian students to Ireland promising them all sorts of things. They are letting people in like there is no tomorrow, and the biggest source of international students is India."
πΉ "This is a small country with a population of around 50 lakhs, with the housing, infrastructure and jobs to support that population. If all of a sudden thousands of Indians pour in, where will the jobs come from?"
πΉ "On top of all this, immigration is also at an all time high. Resentment against migrants is slowly rising among the locals, as they feel the rising costs and increased competition for low wage jobs."
πΉ "interacting and experiencing different backgrounds students does not exist if you are choosing cs related courses. (Iykyk). There isnt much happening."
πΉ "Ireland is way too expensive, do not even try."

Indian students in Ireland are continuing to warn other Indians not to move to Ireland and I feel we have a moral obligation to promote this content. Some comments from the latest reddit thread include:
πΉ "I paid around 20 lakhs for fees and didn't even get a internship or placement opportunity. Careers team or fair is just a event promotion scam."
πΉ "Tech salaries here so low that you have to live with roommates and hardly have any money to buy a car or plan long term for family."
πΉ "I have spend 35 lakhs here for this shitty course and I have to go back to India because there is no jobs in the AI field here and everyone wants you to be 5-7+ yoe in specific tools."
πΉ "Racism and crime is rising here. Near my neighbourhood robbery and car theft happen almost everyday and the government just want to take half of your income and give you nothing in return."

Brazilian pimp who ran a network of brothels staffed with foreign prostitutes across nine towns in Ireland had no legal right to be here but travelled in and out of the country on a βfalse application to studyβ or on a holiday visa.
Ilamar Rodrigues Ribeiro's offences date back to 2010, but it was not until 2020 that the Garda began to monitor him and it took a further three years to finally arrest him.
They can put the Brazilian pimp in prison but the people in charge of border security still walk free, and they're being very well paid.
