Thorton Hall has 150 acres of grounds and was originally purchased by the State in 2004 for €30 million to build a new super prison but that plan is now shelved. Meanwhile overcrowding in Irish prisons has been described as a "ticking time bomb", according to the Prison Officers Association.

Patrick Quinlan is running the the EU election for Dublin and the local elections for Blanchardstown-Mulhuddart. Leon Bradly is running in the locals for Ballymun-Finglas, both solid community activists.

Paul Connolly actually tried to stage a fake counter-protest dressed up as Antifa with two security men and a Pakistani TV producer from England in order to try to find out what had motivated locals to set up Coolock Says No.

This was necessary because if he showed up as a journalist with a microphone in his hand, he'd probably be unwelcome and people might clam up and not answer his questions.

All perfectly innocent and fairly normal journalism. Don't believe the conspiracy nonsense.

Outrage in Tipperary after locals learn 80 of the Ukrainians staying at the Dundrum House Hotel are to be swapped out for international protection applicants in the coming days.

Tipp FM heard that there has been problems with Ukrainians loitering outside the shop, drinking and intimidating locals after 260 of them were welcomed to the town. A few of the girls working in the shop were told they would be followed so people are now fearing the worst with the new arrivals.

Foreigners now outnumber Irish people in the small village of Dundrum which had a population of 221 listed in the 2022 census.

Several stabbed at a rally organised by Pax Europa, which is an organisation opposed to the Islamisation of Europe. Activist and blogger Michael Stürzenberger was among the injured.

Looks a cop got it in the neck when he pushed one of the rally members off the stabber and then kneeled on his chest like he was the problem—a microcosm of EU decision-making.

Pictures are doing the rounds claiming to show a pool of blood on the ground beside the cabin door of a Monaghan registered Scania HGV belonging to Carna Transport in Calais. A second picture claims to show a bloodied driver.

A third picture shows some sort of incident report card. It reads "Homicide Attempt" and gives the details of the HGV.

The card is dated May 17th. I can't find any news reports reflecting the details but it's not unusual for the Irish media not to report on incidents relating to migrants and Ireland in French ports.

In January 2023, I posted about how French media was reporting of a surge of illegals in Cherbourg trying to stow away on trucks destined for Ireland. There had been 1,000 attempts counted in the previous October.

One migrant interviewed said the reason he wanted to get to Ireland was because France had rejected his asylum application and he understood Ireland as having a more lenient asylum system.

No Irish media outlets ran the story.

Rapists have been applying for asylum to try to dodge deportation at the end of their sentences, reports the Sunday Times:

🔹 In the cases of an Albanian man and a Pakistani man, both convicted of rape, gardaí attempted to serve deportation orders before their scheduled release dates so they could be deported on release.

🔹 However, both men claimed they were applying for asylum. As a result, both men walked free as gardaí could only serve them with deportation orders once their applications are rejected. They then disappeared.

🔹 A manhunt was issued and both men were found and jailed, but the Pakistani rapist later obtained a High Court bail and is free pending his claim for asylum.

🔹 The Albanian man was detained but released soon afterwards in a suspected blunder by the authorities. After a second manhunt for him, the man said he was withdrawing his asylum application and would return home voluntarily.

🔹 The Department of Justice said it would not comment on individual cases, but while the Refuge Convention allows Ireland to deny refugee status to rapists, it also prohibits us from deporting them to countries deemed unsafe.

🔹 The Times are also reporting that IPO staff are blaming the increased asylum seeker numbers not only the UK's Rwanda Plan, but also because there are only eight countries on Ireland’s IPO safe country of origin list compared to other EU countries where there as many as 20.

🔹 In recent weeks around 50 migrants have been sent back across the border in the north as part of Operation Sonnet, but sources told the Times that a number simply got on other buses or tried another route and came across again. The big success stories RTÉ and other outlets ran on Operation Sonnet was merely news theatre for the elections.

🔹 The Sunday Times also reports on the information first revealed by this channel but worth repeating: The fingerprints of asylum seekers are not checked against criminal databases, contrary to dishonest assertions by politicians, NGOs, and low-quality journalists.

🔹 Fingerprints are only checked against the Eurodac system and the Schengen Information System. The first system solely informs the authorities if a migrant claimed asylum elsewhere in the EU or if they were caught crossing a border illegally. It provides no other details, not even a name. The second system informs authorities if there is an outstanding warrant for their arrest anywhere in the EU. It does not provide a backlog of any prior convictions.
