There will also be an upcoming rollout of protocol upgrades that begins with Testnet1 this week, and continue with Testnet2 and Mainnet upgrades into the next few weeks, which may potentially require planned outages of the blockchain services. Progress update on protocol upgrades: the Testnet1 blockchain has been upgraded from protocol version 19 to version 22, marking the first step towards enabling new layers of functionality and control on the blockchain. Work is underway to upgrade Testnet1 to version 23, followed by upgrades to the Testnet2 and Mainnet blockchains from version 19 to 23.

A new Fast Track KYC feature, built using more AI in the KYC flow, now allows new Pioneers to activate a Mainnet wallet even before completing 30 mining sessions. This means earlier access to Pi apps and the ecosystem—without waiting for standard KYC process or full Mainnet migration. Developers can also now create test tokens on the Pi Testnet blockchain, while such functionality is restricted on Mainnet during the testing period. Around 3 million more Tentative Pioneers can become eligible through this system process by completing their required liveness check. Fully KYC’d Pioneers should complete the Mainnet Checklist to migrate to Mainnet—over 2.69 million from this release have already done so and migrated.
