A Partial correlation between two variables is one that partials out or nullifies the effect of a third variable upon both the variables being correlated.
Two variables A and B are closely related. The Correlation between them is partialled out, or controlled for the influence of one or more variables is known as Partial correlation.

The Multiple Correlation Coefficient (R) denotes a correlation of one variable with multiple other variables.
The Multiple Correlation Coefficient is denoted as R (A.BCD....k) which denotes that A is correlated with B,C,D upto k variables.

Regression is the study of nature of relationship between the variables, so that one may be able to predict the unknown value of one variable for a known value of another variable.
Regression Analysis means the estimation or prediction of the unknown value of one variable from the known value of the other variable.
It is especially used in business and economics to study the relationship between two or more variables that are related casually and for the estimation of demand and supply graphs, cost functions, production and consumption functions and so on.
According to M.M. Blair, "Regression Analysis is a mathematical measure of the average relationship between two or more variables in terms of original units of data".
The study of regression is important in statistical analysis, which is clear from the following points:
A) Nature of Relationship
B) Estimation of Relationship
C) Prediction
D) Useful in Economic and Business Research
