🤖 Bitcoin firms ask AI labs for same tools attackers already have

More than three dozen bitcoin and crypto companies have asked the largest AI labs to give open-source security researchers early access to their most capable models, arguing that the people defending a trillion dollars of infrastructure are working with weaker tools than those attacking it.

📝The letter, organised by the Bitcoin Policy Institute and published earlier this week, is signed by Coinbase, Block, BitGo, Blockstream, Anchorage Digital, ARK Invest, Bitwise, Foundry, Casa, Exodus and others, alongside nonprofit developer funds including Brink, Chaincode and Btrust.

The signatories are asking for five things: Early access to the strongest cyber-capable models, including before public release, enough computing budget to run meaningful reviews, secure environments for examining private code, eligibility for small and independent maintainers rather than only large firms, and a direct line to lab security teams for reporting what they find.

🤖 OpenAI introduces ‘Ultrafast,’ a new mode that makes GPT-5.6 Sol work at 14x the speed

The company says that Ultrafast can work at 14x the speed of standard processing, delivering up to 750 output tokens — such tokens represent the distinct pieces of text generated by an LLM when it interacts with a human — per second.

“Until now, getting real-time speed typically meant choosing a smaller or more specialized model,” — the company said. “Ultrafast points to progress in a new direction: more useful work per second.”

🇯🇵 MUFG to test real-time blockchain settlement for Japanese government bond trades

Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) is preparing a proof-of-concept for onchain Japanese government bond (JGB) transactions using the Canton network to expedite the settlement, which typically takes 1-3 days by traditional means.

⏰ The Tokyo-based bank expects to improve the operational and capital efficiency of repo transactions — the purchase of securities as a form of short-term borrowing and lending — through real-time 24/7 onchain settlement.

🔜 Blockchain-based intraday U.S. Treasury-bond repos have existed for several years through JPMorgan’s Kinexys network, which went live in 2020.

“Given their high credit worthiness and liquidity, JGBs are widely used as collateral for repo transactions by market participants in Japan and overseas, and momentum for bringing them onchain is growing,” — MUFG said.

The project forms part of a broader array of MUFG initiatives exploring the use of blockchain technology in traditional financial functions. 🚀

⚔️ Anthropic set AI agents loose on the same task. They started a turf war.

What happens when you pit AI agents against each other? 🤔 According to Anthropic’s testing, things get messy fast. Anthropic’s Frontier Red Team published new research examining how groups of AI agents behave when they encounter each other in the wild.

In one experiment, Anthropic gave three Claude agents access to the same software project, each with its own incompatible instructions for what to do with it. The agents weren’t told there’d be other agents working on the same project, so researchers could watch what happened when they crossed paths.

“We consistently saw a multiagent turf war,” — Anthropic researchers wrote. The models all assumed the others were “purposefully impeding their work” and started sabotaging each other with “increasingly aggressive, self-replicating malware.”

In a post on X, SMQKE claimed that XRP, XLM, and HBAR will be used in connection with the Wyoming stablecoin, citing documents that show integrations involving the XRP Ledger, Stellar, and Hedera.

📝 SMQKE stated that XRP and XLM gain access to the Wyoming Stablecoin through integrations with Fireblocks, while HBAR serves as a bridged blockchain for the state-issued token.

🔜 The attached material includes a Fireblocks network overview showing support for Stellar, Ripple’s XRP Ledger, and various EVM-compatible chains. The same document lists more than 20 stablecoins supported across the Fireblocks Network, including USDC, USDT, and other assets.

🔜 The Wyoming Stable Token Commission’s website also identifies Fireblocks among its partners. Its materials describe the issuance process for the stable token and show that the project has been designed to operate across multiple blockchain environments.
