🕎 Baruch Spinoza and the Alleged "Diabolical Nature" of the Jews
1️⃣ The works of #Baruch_Spinoza contain strong criticism of the political structure of the #Jewish_Community.
2️⃣ When, in his first treatise, he speaks of "the right of every person to think freely and to express their opinions openly," he is, in effect, protesting against what he viewed as the restrictive atmosphere within #Jewish_Communities of his time.
3️⃣ Spinoza regarded the efforts of Jewish communal leaders to #Preserve_Torah_Law as, in reality, an attempt to preserve their own authority over Jewish communities.
4️⃣ He writes:
✍ "The Jews hate all other peoples, and this hatred has become their second nature, for they reinforce it daily through their religious observances. Their mode of worship not only differs from that of other peoples but stands in opposition to it."
5️⃣ According to Baruch Spinoza:
✍ "Even the virtues that may be found among the Jews arise from what may be called their diabolical nature: their unity and mutual support stem from their hatred of all other peoples, and as a result, other peoples hate them in return. Their state in Palestine came to an end because even God hated them."
