The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) is set to meet representatives from online real money gaming federations and operators on Monday, marking the first direct engagement with the industry since the passing of the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025.
इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स और सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी मंत्रालय (MeitY) सोमवार को ऑनलाइन रियल मनी गेमिंग महासंघों और ऑपरेटरों के प्रतिनिधियों से मुलाक़ात करने वाला है। यह 2025 में "ऑनलाइन गेमिंग प्रोत्साहन और विनियमन अधिनियम" पारित होने के बाद उद्योग के साथ पहली सीधी बातचीत होगी।

Bagheera Carrom: Bagheera Carrom (OPC) Private Limited, a company with an online carrom platform, challenged the law in the Delhi High Court. The company argues the Act is vague, arbitrary, and was passed without proper consultation. The petition states that carrom is a game of skill and the law violates fundamental rights.

The Centre has approached the Supreme Court to transfer multiple legal challenges against the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025, as per news reports. The move is aimed at preventing diverse rulings by different High Courts on the issue, with the hearing scheduled for September 8, 2025.
