Supreme Court lawyer J Sai Deepak writes about the Places of Worship Act which barred Hindu claims over 40,000+ Hindu temples under Islamic occupation.
" Even if a lone individual asserts the right of reclamation and the rest of the community has either forgiven, or worse, forgotten, no canon of secularism or principle of fairness or justice in any civilized jurisdiction can mandate that an individual or a community must sacrifice her or its right to legally reclaim the nerve centers of civilizational identity."

The Act is clearly unconstitutional and ought to be struck down by the Supreme Court.

A Panchakuta temple, built during the reign of Kakatiyas, now in completely ruined state, only the MukhaMandapa survives.
The negligence of the authorities is glaring and appalling.

Shri Veeranarayana Temple, Belavadi ~ Belavadi is situated 10 km north-west of Halebid, the capital of the Hoysalas who ruled the major part of southern Karnataka between 11th-14th century AD.
● According to legends, the village was the Ekachakra-nagar of the Mahabharata times, where Bhima is said to have slain Bakasura.
● This is a trikutachala temple with all the three vesara shikaras intact. The temple in east-west orientation is dedicated to Viranarayana, Venugopala and Yoga Narasimha, the first one being the principal image.
● Unlike the other ornate Hoysala temples, this temple is without raised platform or jagati.
● The temple is datable to circa 12th century AD.
