Temple ruins are sometimes infested by bhuta, preta and pisachas. These forces create many hindrances in the restoration of a temple.

Hence one of the first steps in revival of an ancient temple is to remove these spirits and sanctify the place.

Powerful spirits inimical to temple restoration also attempt to cause many adverse events in life of those leading the restoration.

Hence its also essential for each person involved in temple revival to have sufficient spiritual capabilities.
