Restoring an ancient temple as per agamas is very similar to the consecration of a new temple, except that we don't have liberty of the Deity and type of worship to be done.
One of the temples under restoration is the Avanamkulam temple in Malappuram Kerala which was destroyed by Tipu Sultan centuries back.
Former Chief Priest of Sabarimala temple, Brahmasree Sudheer Namboodiri is advising us on its restoration. He is also an expert in astrology and based on his advice we are doing Ghananadhi Shudhikriya at the temple on 21.5.22. The said ritual is done to sanctify the land and to remove any negative influence by enemical forces on temple premises or those associated with it.
