Cholakkara Durga temple in Malappuram Kerala was destroyed in 1921 Moplah Riots. The temple was destroyed after violating the younger daughter of the caretaker family which forced them to migrate.

Devotees have been trying for the past few decades to restore the temple. The neighbours Kunheen, Fathima, Kunjaisha, Ramla, Laila who encroached on temple land are filing civil and criminal cases on devotees who try to restore the temple. Attempts are also made to block the way to the temple.

We are starting the restoration next month.

This will be project #KL014 .

The attempts to demolish the Kelukutty BhandaraMurthy temple in Kerala temple began with the British who wanted to run trains over it. The devotees won it the first time.

Next the attempt was made when Vajpayee was Prime Minister. Hindu society won the second time.

Now a third attempt is made to destroy the temple, this time by the Narendra Modi govt.

Let's see what happens.

Started the restoration work of Cholakkara Durga temple in Malappuram Kerala which was destroyed in 1921 Moplah riots.

Kunheen, Fathima, Kunjaisha, Ramla, Laila and family who encroached on temple land are blocking the revival of this ancient Durga temple for past three decades by filing bogus civil and criminal cases.

The temple is being revived now under the #ReclaimTemples project. Will keep you updated.
