Javari Temple isn’t crumbling—it’s waiting.
Waiting for hands that understand stone, for eyes that see beyond checklists and plaques.
Built in the quiet brilliance of Chandela artisanship, this temple still holds its grace—but only just. Though it wears the badge of ASI protection, care hasn’t kept pace with time. Moss creeps in, joints split, and silence settles where sanctity once echoed.

Not forgotten. Just unattended.
Not lost. But fading.

Mohajamata Temple, located near Khajuraho, is an early shrine dedicated to a local form of the Mother Goddess. Believed to predate the more elaborate Chandela-era temples, it is constructed in a simpler style using undressed stone.
There should have been necessary efforts to rebuild the temple restart the worship but the ASI has not taken any restoration effort despite the temple being centrally protected.
The temple faces challenges such as structural cracks, overgrowth, and limited maintenance. Its condition highlights the need for more proactive conservation efforts, even for lesser-known but culturally significant heritage sites.

An 11th-century Shiva temple built during the reign of the Kachchhapaghata dynasty faces neglect in the contemporary advanced society.

The garbhagriha remains unlit—not by the authorities, but by a local guard who installed a single bulb so Lord Shiva isn’t left in darkness.
Stones lie scattered, carvings broken, and restoration has been absent for decades.

A guard remarks, “The lights outside haven’t worked in four months. ASI says ‘this is the work of electricity department, we are not accountable’—and nothing changes.”
While
@MPTourism
built a ticket counter and tourist resting spot, there’s no effort to restore or revive the temple’s sacred presence.
When will
@ASIGoI
act—not just for tourism, but for worship and heritage?

The Kutumbari Temple stands as a significant relic of India’s ancient architectural and spiritual heritage. Although it holds immense historical and cultural value, the temple today lies in a state of neglect and ruin.
Despite its importance, efforts by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) to restore and preserve the site have been inadequate, allowing time and nature to further erode its grandeur. The Kutumbari Temple remains a somber reminder of a glorious past slowly fading into obscurity.

Siddheshwar Temple, now in ruins, stands as a testament to the region’s rich heritage. Remarkably, its sanctum was once aligned to catch the first rays of the sun, reflecting the advanced astronomical knowledge of its builders.

The Maniyan Group of Temples in Dwarahat, Uttarakhand, comprises nine stone shrines dating from the 11th to 13th centuries, attributed to the Katyuri dynasty. Notably, three temples feature Jain Tirthankara images on their lintels—an uncommon occurrence in this region—while the remaining shrines are dedicated to Brahminical deities.
Despite their historical significance, the complex has suffered from neglect, with several structures in a state of disrepair, reflecting the urgent need for conservation efforts to preserve this unique confluence of religious traditions.

If we dont react now, temples will disappear and will be forgotten.
Such similar is the condition of the Adi Badri group of temples, the site is one of the earliest known centers of Vishnu worship in the region.
Adi Badri holds a vital place in the Panch Badri and Sapta Badri pilgrimage circuits, yet much of its historical architecture now lies in ruins. Despite being under the protection of the Archaeological Survey of India, the complex continues to suffer from neglect and environmental wear. If timely conservation efforts are not undertaken, this invaluable symbol of spiritual and architectural heritage may soon be lost to history.

The Ayyamkulangara Uma Maheshwara Temple has made remarkable progress on its journey from ruin to revival. What once stood neglected is now being brought back to life, thanks to the dedication and collective effort of well-wishers and devotees.

Significant restoration has already been completed — including the installation of the main gate and the construction of protective boundary walls to prevent encroachment and unauthorized access.

However, key elements such as the Nalambalam, Thirumuttam Virikkal, office space, and bathroom facilities are still pending and require further financial support to reach full completion.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who have contributed to this noble cause. Your support has made this revival possible. 🙏

Gadarmal Temple is a 9th-century structure reflecting Pratihara and Parmara influences, with Indo-Greek design elements. Built using salvaged fragments from earlier Jain and Hindu temples, it features a single oblong sanctum and lacks a sabhamandapa. Surrounded by seven ruined shrines and with its builder unknown, the temple remains a mysterious and fading relic of the past.

UmaMaheswara Puja is conducted every Sunday at this ancient temple with Rudraksha Shivlinga.
Puja is beneficial for marriages, relationships and family as it invokes the blessings of Goddess Uma and Maheswara on the couple.

The Deities have been consecrated at temples by our ancestors for welfare of the devotees.
We ensure the proper worship as per agamas, so that the blessings of the Deity reaches the devotees who offer prayers.
