Special Pooja at Chellur Mahadeva Temple, Kerala 🪔
On 21st October, devotees gathered at the ancient Chellur Mahadeva Temple for a special pooja filled with devotion, tradition and community spirit.
From the kolam and the glowing brass lamps to the priests chanting at the sanctum, every moment reflected the living heritage of our temples. Devotees prepared sacred offerings with their own hands, cutting sugarcane, stringing flowers and tulsi leaves, and offering prayers together as families.
A temple comes alive not through its stones, but through the worship, rituals and people who keep its traditions burning. 🙏
Let us protect, revive and celebrate our ancient temples.

Guruthi Puja started at Cholakkara Durga temple.
Durga is the Shakti who destroys all that threatens her devotees, so Guruthi Puja is especially sought by those troubled by enemies, whether open adversaries, hidden ill-wishers, or unseen forces.
Devotees offer it to be freed from the harm of enemies, from false accusations and unjust legal or personal conflicts, and from the effects of evil eye (drishti), black magic and envy.
When the Goddess accepts the Guruthi, the hostile energies around the devotee and his family are neutralised.
The puja is traditionally performed at night on Fridays and special occasions such as Navaratri, and the devotee’s name and birth star (nakshatra) are recited in the sankalpa so that the blessings reach him personally.
The Puja is done in a very elaborate manner and only one booking is taken for a day.

We had written to PM Narendra Modi asking for removing the ban on worship at ancient Hindu temples under his government and also for allowing them to be restored from ruins.
The Prime Minister's Office forwarded it to Archaeological Survey of India who then closed the file with a vague remark.
