​​Reminding the basic rules of RNode safe operation

Dear crypto community!

⚙️Our Relictum blockchain ecosystem is a distributed system without any single server. All your tokens and coins are kept in your node on your device and no one can access them, not even network administrators. But, this also means that the responsibility for your personal assets and data safety is entirely up to you.

We used to rely on the magical “Forgot your password?” button to restore access to your account, but this is not possible in a decentralized blockchain network, therefore, it is very important for you to follow four basic rules to avoid unpleasant surprises in the future.

❗️When you create an account in your node app, you will be asked to set a password, so RULE No.1 Be sure to remember your password, or even better, write it down and keep it in some safe place, since it is impossible to recover your password, and without it, you will lose access to your assets.

❗️Next, you should generate a private key. To do that, set a PIN code (from 4 to 8 digits), and keep the following rule:
RULE No.2 Be sure to remember your PIN code, or even better, write it down and keep it in some safe place, since it is impossible to recover your PIN code. You will need it when importing your private key.
Next, create a private key. This is a sequence of characters that can be written down or stored as a separate file on your device.

❗️RULE No.3 Keep your private key in a file with a pk. extension.
Alternatively, you can store your private key as a text document, but we do not recommend doing so, since a text editor can add or change some characters in the sequence and it will become invalid. If necessary, open the key file only with the node application.

❗️RULE No.4 A private key is a one-time use! If you have already used it once, you must immediately generate a new one, otherwise, you will not be able to restore access to your funds later.

That's all! It is not difficult at all to follow these basic rules, but keeping them guarantees the safety of your funds!

They added a recovery feature, Ledger Recovery in Nano X v.2.2.1. It allows users to store backup copies of their passphrase at third parties!

How it works?

◾️Upon the user agreement, the secret recovery phrase is encrypted and divided into several fragments, which are then sent for storage to third parties/organizations.

◾️Access to a seed phrase is granted after passing the KYC procedure (with a passport or ID card). For now the service is provided for the citizens of the European Union, Great Britain, Canada and the USA.

Users reacted extremely negatively to the possibility of transferring their secret data to third parties.

❗️Relictum Academy strongly recommends you never store your passwords and keys on servers, or in any other place where they could potentially be accessed by third parties.
