๐ค Description:
Somebody Cares About Science โ Robert Stockwell Memorial Scholarship 2027 (Deadline: January 11, 2027)
Who Can Apply:
The Robert Stockwell Memorial Scholarship Fund honors the legacy of Robert Stockwell, a dedicated and patient science educator at Learn4Life High Schools, who believed deeply in the power of education to transform lives.
Robertโs own journey reflected the spirit he brought to his classroom โ he began at community college before transferring to a university, proving that there is no single road to growth. His passion for biology, fitness, and exercise physiology reflected his broader belief: that with curiosity, effort, and a willingness to learn, anyone can grow and change the course of their life. He encouraged his students to embrace learning โ not just as a path to academic success, but as a tool for personal transformation.
This scholarship supports current Learn4Life students and graduates in California who share Robertโs drive to grow through education. Whether pursuing a degree at a community college or university, enrolling in a vocational or trade program, or obtaining a professional certification โ any path that reflects a commitment to continued learning and self-development honors Robertโs memory and mission.
Any current Learn4Life student or graduate in CA who plans to continue their education or training in any field is eligible to apply.
Submission: To apply, please submit a short personal essay of 3 to 4 paragraphs (about 300โ500 words).
Robert Stockwell believed that anyone โ with curiosity, effort, and a willingness to learn โ can grow and change the course of their life. In that spirit, weโd love to hear your story.
In your essay, tell us:
Who you are โ what has shaped you and what keeps you going
A moment or experience that made you want to keep learning โ this doesnโt have to be about school; it could be something personal, a challenge you overcame, or something that sparked your curiosity
Your plans after Learn4Life โ whether thatโs college, a trade program, a certification, or something else, tell us where youโre headed and why it matters to you
Deadline: January 11, 2027
Amount: $1,000

๐ Jonathan Wade Lightfoot Memorial Scholarship (Deadline: April 10, 2027)
๐ค Description:
Jonathan Wade Lightfoot Memorial Scholarship (Deadline: April 10, 2027)
Who Can Apply:
The Jonathan Wade Lightfoot Memorial Scholarship was created to honor the life and memory of our best friend, Jonathan, who passed away far too soon.
Jonathan was a veteran, a loyal friend, and someone who was supposed to be an important part of the future of our familyโs wild game processing business, County Line Wild Game Processing. For years we talked about opening our own facility, and Jonathan was always part of those conversations โ he was going to help run the shop and make it his โbaby.โ After losing him, we felt an overwhelming pull to finally make that dream a reality.
We dedicate 20% of our profits to this scholarship fund, supporting veterans pursuing a college education in natural resource management, agriculture, animal science, environmental science, or related fields. Our hope is that it helps veterans build the next chapter of their lives while pursuing careers connected to agriculture, conservation, wildlife, and the outdoors.
Applicants must be U.S. veterans living in Texas who are currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, and who are either studying or planning a career in natural resource management, agriculture, animal science, environmental science, or a closely related field. We are looking for someone who embodies the qualities that meant so much to Jonathan: loyalty, determination, humility, and a willingness to show up for others.
Submission: To apply, share how your own experiences with mental health, military service, agriculture, or the outdoors have shaped who you are and the career you hope to build, and upload a photo of yourself in uniform.
Deadline: April 10, 2027
Amount: $500
