Students Bring Laurels to School at KVRSS SPARK Innovation Competition
We are proud to share the remarkable achievements of our students at the KVRSS SPARK Innovation Competition, held at the University of Hyderabad on 1 August. Representing the school across diverse categories, our students demonstrated exceptional creativity, innovation and problem-solving skills, earning recognition at the prestigious competition.
Avni Dwivedi of Grade XII secured First Position in the Jeevanam category, winning a prestigious cash prize of ₹10,000 for her outstanding performance and innovative approach. Adding to the school’s achievements, Kartik Chaudhary of Grade VIII secured the Second Runner-Up position in the SMART (Science Meets Arts) category and was awarded a cash prize of ₹1,000.
Harsimar Dargan of Grade X presented an innovative game offering a novel solution for the JEE counselling system under the Ganitam category. His creative idea earned him a Consolation Certificate and a cash prize of ₹1,000.

Our students have been selected as one of the Top 15 teams in India in the Thomson Reuters Student Entrepreneurship Program (SEP)—a wonderful recognition of their creativity, innovation, perseverance, and entrepreneurial spirit.
Their journey began with the Student Innovators Program (SIP) by AIM, NITI Aayog, Government of India, where their innovative idea was selected for the Student Entrepreneurship Program. After successfully progressing through the program, they have now earned a place among the Top 15 teams nationwide.

SCOTTISH HIGH CELEBRATES INDEPENDENCE DAY
Pride swelled in every heart as the Tricolour soared high against the sky, marking India's 80th Independence Day! From the disciplined march-past by our NCC cadets to the flag hoisting by our School Principal, every moment radiated patriotism, courage, and unity.
Keeping the spirit of celebration alive, the Highlanders came together with soulful patriotic melodies and recitations that echoed with love for the nation. The Primary and Senior students lit up the stage with singing and dance presentations so powerful that they touched every heart in the audience. Special performances paid heartfelt tribute to our brave freedom fighters, reminding us all that freedom was never free, and that unity and gratitude remain our greatest strength.
This was more than a celebration. It was a promise renewed, a tribute to the countless sacrifices that gave us our freedom, and a reminder that the torch of nationhood now rests in our hands to carry forward with pride and purpose.

🚀 Rocketry in Action at SHIS!
The Department of Physics, Scottish High International School, Gurugram conducted an engaging Expert Talk and Hands-on Workshop on “Rocketry and Hydro Rocket Mechanism” for Grade XI IBDP students on 12 August 2026.
The session, led by Ms. Kimi Panday, Rocketry Expert from Space India, introduced students to rocket components including the nozzle, nose cone, fuselage, propulsion system, fins and payload, along with the importance of Centre of Gravity and Centre of Pressure.
Students connected these components with key Physics concepts such as thrust, pressure, momentum, Newton’s Laws, drag, stability and projectile motion. They designed and assembled hydro rockets and enthusiastically tested them using rocket launchers.
Inspired by the experience, students are now ready to design their own hydro-rocket launching mechanism.

Grade XII IBDP students explored the theme “Water Quality: Science Behind Safe Drinking Water” through their Collaborative Sciences Project (CSP). Working in interdisciplinary teams, students integrated Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science and ESS to investigate water quality, evaluate purification methods, explore connections with human health, and design sustainable water purification solutions.
The experience reflected the interdisciplinary nature of the IB Diploma Programme, encouraging inquiry, application of scientific knowledge and evidence-based thinking. Through collaborative investigation, data analysis and communication of findings, students strengthened their ATL skills, particularly research, thinking, communication, self-management and social skills, while developing greater awareness of sustainability and global challenges.

Through our “Bend It Like Beckham” CAS and Physics integration activity, students stepped onto the field to explore the curvy, linear paths of a moving football ! not just by studying them on paper, but by actually experiencing them.
As they kicked, curved, chased and experimented with the ball, students began to see how concepts from Physics connect to something they genuinely enjoy. It was learning through movement, teamwork, curiosity and a lot of fun! 💫

Health, Wellbeing & Sex Education for Senior School Students
The school organised two insightful Health, Wellness and Sex Education sessions for senior school students of Grades IX-XII, focusing on physical health, adolescent development, reproductive health, and overall well-being.
Students of Grades IX and X attended an informative session led by Dr. Pooja Mehta, Director – Obstetrics, Gynecology & Robotic Surgery at CK Birla Hospital, who addressed important aspects of adolescent health, sex education, bodily changes, and the importance of making informed and responsible choices.
This was followed by a session for Grades XI and XII conducted by Dr. Shalinta Tyagi, a women’s health physiotherapist, founder of Motherina and associated with Motherhood Hospital.
Through her session, “Understanding Your Body,” students explored topics related to health, wellness, bodily changes, reproductive health, and sex education during this important stage of growth.
