🔘 Creeper

What is a creeper in Minecraft?

◻️Hostile mob
In Minecraft, a creeper is a hostile mob that sneaks up on players and then explodes. Creepers are a common aspect of gameplay and have become one of the icons of Minecraft.
In the game, creepers are a nuisance that pursues any player within a 16-block radius. When a creeper dies, it leaves behind gunpowders, a music disc, and experience points (when a player kills it).
Minecraft gamers created the term based on the stalker aspects of the mob that resemble socially invasive creepers in real life. If you use creeper with non-Minecraft gamers, they will probably think you're referring to the socially awkward people they know.

❓Example

That creeper just exploded on me, I didn't even see it coming!

◻️Agree

Social media and forum users use the word based to mean "I agree" or "that's cool." This slang term has an extensive history, but in its current form, it was first popularized by rapper Brandon "Lil B" McCartney - aka The BasedGod.

What is the origin of based?
In the past, calling someone based was meant to label them as freaky or eccentric. This variation of based was derived from the term basehead, which describes a person who freebases cocaine.
However, when critics began calling Lil B based, the rapper decided to reclaim the term. According to Lil B, "[b]ased means being yourself. Not being scared of what people think about you. Not being afraid to do what you wanna do."
This version of based took off on 4chan. At first, posters in 4chan's music forums used based to praise experimental music. Then, the word migrated to 4chan's politics forums, where right-wing posters used based to agree with controversial actions they found brave.
Over time, based migrated into other netizens' lexicons. It is now most often used to agree with controversial opinions. However, based is also sometimes used sarcastically, to mock those who have absurd opinions or are doing absurd things.

For more fun and flare, add the goat emoji next to the GOAT acronym.

Famous GOAT Debates

There may be no greater pastime than debating who or what is the best of all-time, whether it be sports, movies, TV, music, or food. Here are some of the most famous GOAT debates:

Michael Jordan vs. LeBron James

This is one of the most famous GOAT discussions, especially come NBA playoff time. Supporters compare stats, dominance, competition at the time, quality of teammates, influence, and of course, championships. Just like the conflict in the Middle East, this will never be resolved.

The Godfather vs. The Shawshank Redemption

This one comes from IMDb (Internet Movie Database), which is an online database of movies and actors.
Users are allowed to rate how good or bad they think a movie is and these two movies are at the top of the list. Part of this is actually due to fans of The Godfather and The Dark Knight down voting the other movie in an attempt to get to number 1.

This opened the door for The Shawshank Redemption, which is one of the most played movies on cable TV. Get busy voting or get busy dying.

Chicago style pizza vs. New York style pizza

This GOAT debate is all about preference. You got the Chicago style, also known as deep dish, with an abundance of tomato sauce, cheese, and assorted toppings. Then you have the exact opposite with New York style thin crust, tomato sauce, cheese, and toppings. Can we just agree that both taste great?

Other GOAT Claims

Kanye West interrupts T Swift

Probably the most shocking GOAT claim ever was when Kanye interrupted Taylor Swift after she won the VMA for Best Female Video.

He claimed that Beyoncé should have won because she had one of the greatest music videos of all time. His outburst birthed the "Imma let you finish" meme.

Muhammad Ali announces that he is the GOAT

We go all the way back to 1964 for the infamous interview with Muhammad Ali after he upset Sonny Liston. Ali declared that "I am the greatest! I'm the greatest thing that ever lived." Not much humility in that statement but there's no denying that he was the GOAT.

Buzzkill is when something abruptly ruins the good mood or vibe others are experiencing. For example, if a group of friends is having fun hanging out, and one of the friends reminds everyone that every heartbeat brings them closer to death, the friends might say, "Thanks for the buzzkill, Todd."

For example, an insult, a revealed secret, the arrival of a guest, or lousy weather all qualify as buzzkills.

🔘 DND

What does DND stand for?

◻️Dungeons & Dragons

Dungeons & Dragons is a popular tabletop role-playing game (RPG) that allows players to imagine themselves as fantasy characters adventuring within a fantastic world. First published in 1974, DnD (also known as D&D) remains the best-known and best-selling tabletop RPG.

To play, a number of players (usually three to five) sit down together and create player characters (PCs). These characters act as the players' in-game avatars, who begin journeying (via spoken word) through a world created by the game's Dungeon Master (DM). Together, the players and their Dungeon Master craft a story in which the players' characters either overcome or are defeated by the challenges the Dungeon Master has created.

Dungeons & Dragons has endured a number of highs and lows throughout its history. In the 1980s, the so-called "Satanic Panic" saw parents attempting to link the game to devil worship and Satanism. However, the game's reputation recovered from these accusations, and in the late 2010s and early 2020s, D&D gained in popularity thanks to its appearance in the Netflix show Stranger Things and the rise of actual play podcasts and videos. Due to its increased pop culture profile and the proliferation of online D&D-playing tools, such as Roll20.net and DnDBeyond.com, Dungeons & Dragons may be more popular now than it has ever been.

🔘 Griefer

What does griefer mean?

◻️An irritating player

In multiplayer video games, a griefer is a player whose primary objective is not to win, but to harass other players. Griefers go out of their way to troll their teammates and/or their opponents, by purposefully performing antagonistic behaviors.
Some examples of griefing include:

Playing incredibly slowly to waste other players' time

Purposefully killing teammates with friendly fire

Stealing other players' items or kills

Destroying other players' creations in sandbox games (like Minecraft)

Sharing teammates' positions with opponents

Often, griefing involves using a game element or mechanic in an abusive or unintended way. For example, in a game in which players can message their teammates, griefers may spam distasteful messages, turning a normally-helpful feature into an annoyance.
