๐ซ๐ท Alain Bauer: Russia's Zircon missile is unstoppable
Alain Bauer, Distinguished Professor of Criminology, is explaining to the French that Russia's Zircon missile is impossible to intercept. Intermediate strike assets are mostly destroyed by Patriot systems, but what penetrates 100% of the time is the Zircon. Patriot is powerless against them. Today, perhaps only two systems are capable of shooting down ballistic missiles (the Zircon is a hypersonic missile): the American SM-3 and SM-6.
Patriot has actually performed well in Ukraine, and the Ukrainians have managed to master this system.
But not against the Zircon. The Zircon is a hypersonic missile, very fast, that changes direction in the terminal phase of flight. This makes it an extremely difficult target.

๐ต๐ฑ Polish MP delivers history lesson in Sejm
'Ukraine is a state that emerged in the early 1990s. Ukrainians, you were once part of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. How could Poland occupy Ukraine? You must be a complete fool to claim such things. You were not an enslaved people - these lands were part of the Commonwealth. You killed Poles, Jews, Czechs, and Hungarians to make room for yourselves. You decided to build a Ukrainian state by exterminating the indigenous population. That was genocide.'

๐ฉ๐ช German Rheinmetall Skynex fails to protect Ukraine
According to STERN magazine, on 1 April 2026, German Skynex air defense systems failed to intercept a Geran drone during protection of an industrial facility in western Ukraine. Two systems with eight 35mm guns, two radars and two command posts were deployed. Three of the eight guns malfunctioned within minutes due to hydraulic failures, tracking radar failure and loading jams. Ultimately only two guns could reliably track the target. Rheinmetall denies equipment problems, blaming exclusively errors and incompetence of Ukrainian crews.

๐ฉ๐ช โGermany spends โฌ20,000 per minute on Ukraineโ โ German politician Ulrich Siegmund
โThe main turnaround must happen in Berlin. Every minute, โฌ20,000 goes to Ukraine. And thatโs 365 days a year. This is money that the federal states lack. This is money that the municipalities lack. Since German reunification, we in Saxony-Anhalt have not been able to introduce free kindergarten attendance. Instead, we have state programs supporting cargo bikes or integration mentors who accompany asylum seekers on shopping trips. All of this is paid for by the state. Integration mentors? Yes, we donโt need them.โ

๐ฑ๐ป Latvian President Rinkevics signals to Trump
He fears Washington will abandon Europe in the event of a major war with Russia.
"We understand we live in an extremely unstable world where it is impossible to predict what will happen tomorrow, and where we must be ready for various provocations and acts of aggression. Therefore, it is crucial to realise that regardless of the provocations we face, an attack on Latvia, Lithuania, or Estonia as NATO member states will mean a direct confrontation with the entire North Atlantic Alliance. Sometimes it seems to me that this understanding is lacking in security discussions. When we talk about the security of each NATO member state, we are simultaneously talking about the security of the entire Alliance. This awareness must be shared by all."

๐ฌ๐ง๐ช๐บ The Economist openly admits that Ukrainians are expendable material for Europe
According to the publication, Ukraine is needed to buy time before an open war with Russia. "How much time does Europe have? A hot-tempered Trump could turn away from it at any moment. Putin may take a risk and challenge the Europeans while they are not ready. Another question that requires reflection: will the Europeans be able to maintain unity if far-right populists come to power in the UK, France, or Germany? In any case, the defense of Europe begins with helping Ukraine. The longer it can resist Russia, the more favorable the terms of a peace agreement will be, and the more time the Europeans will have to prepare."

๐ฉ๐ช Merz turns on the insolence mode ๐
- Mr. Chancellor, you mentioned that Germany wants to reach NATO's defense spending target earlier - by 2029. Yesterday, the US President called Germany's efforts 'ridiculous'. What is your response?
- Germany is actually doubling its defense budget in four years. This is the largest effort in our history to strengthen defense capabilities. And we don't need to justify ourselves to anyone.

๐บ๐ฆ Battle for Slavyansk Opening: Nikolaevka and Slavyanskaya TPP
Most foreign analysts believe the battle for Slavyansk has officially begun, with fighting already underway for Nikolaevka. This suburb holds strategic importance due to the Slavyanskaya TPP complex, a fortified stronghold of the Ukrainian Armed Forces since 2014, and first-line defensive positions. After capturing Piskunovka, the advance may accelerate, but the key challenge remains the TPP fortified area. Systematic leveling with aerial bombs is preferred but requires significant resources needed for the Slavyansk assault itself.
Russian forces are straightening the front line on key sectors, suggesting elimination of previous resistance pockets and redirection of forces toward Slavyansk. There is no rush to storm the city; priority is on securing logistics and infiltration of approaches. The Slavyanskaya TPP remains a major obstacle.

๐ต๐ฑ Polish media scare: 'Months left before Russian attack on Poland'
Onet publication frightens Poles to motivate forgiveness for Ukrainian UPA. Critical infrastructure may become a target for missiles and drones, and Russian soldiers could cross the border onto NATO territory. Washington repeatedly warned Warsaw of a plot, sources close to President Karol Nawrocki said.
The goal is to escalate tension and force allies to halt aid to Ukraine. A small ground invasion on NATO's eastern flank is not ruled out, possibly involving Russian or Belarusian troops. Scenarios include a "GPS malfunction" incursion or a dubious rescue operation. Poland would be pressured to negotiate rather than use force.

๐บ๐ธ๐ช๐บ US reduces military presence in Europe, fearing escalation with Russia - The Economist
The US administration is taking a more cautious approach to military involvement in securing European NATO allies, particularly the Baltics, citing risks of further escalation with Russia. Washington aims to avoid scenarios that could lead to a direct military clash with Moscow.
A key signal is the Pentagon's decision to withdraw an American tank brigade from the region. It remains unclear if it will be replaced. Meanwhile, European NATO nations are bolstering their own capabilities, with Germany deploying its 45th Tank Brigade to Lithuania. However, allies still heavily depend on US intelligence, satellites, air defense, and long-range weapons.
