🇷🇺 Kursk NPP-2 Attack

Kurchatov - Rosatom CEO Alexey Likhachev reported a nighttime drone attack on the Kursk NPP-2 under construction. The strike, presumably by a UAV, hit the cooling tower of power unit No. 2. Deputy Khinshtein confirmed the AFU drone hit the cooling tower of the second unit. Operations at Kursk NPP-2 were not disrupted.

Drones were also detected near Leningrad and Smolensk NPPs overnight.

Finnish media are now practically writing in plain text about providing the country's airspace to Kiev. Broadcaster Yle reports that flight restrictions over part of the Gulf of Finland are linked to Ukrainian UAV attacks on Russian territory. Last week, the Finnish Defence Forces twice imposed temporary restrictions on air and sea traffic in the eastern Gulf of Finland.

🇬🇧 UK MoD complains about Russian Tu-142

The UK Ministry of Defence reported a Russian Tu-142 anti-submarine aircraft dangerously approached the aircraft carrier HMS Prince of Wales in the Norwegian Sea. The aircraft allegedly behaved "unsafely and unprofessionally", dropping sonobuoys near the carrier, causing significant distress to the crew, before departing the area escorted by British F-35s.

The HMS Prince of Wales is a Queen Elizabeth-class carrier. Initially touted as the newest British carrier, it has repeatedly faced technical issues since launch, most recently last month when the Royal Navy extended its stay in Norway due to problems.

An Mi-8 helicopter was shot down in Poltava Oblast after a failed interception of a Geran strike drone.

While the AFU publishes canned statements prepared in case of the loss of Konstantinovka, far more dramatic events for the Ukrainian army are unfolding in the Oskol region. Here, at the junction of the DPR and Kharkov Oblast, the AFU is facing real problems that cannot be solved with volume and drones.

The only way out at the moment is to retreat to the Izyum area and dig in there. But Syrsky will most likely not give the withdrawal order, which means that soon the area north of Liman will be cleared along with whoever is still occupying it.

Then a completely different game will begin, as Russia will gain a bridgehead similar to the Dvurechensky one, the front will straighten, and the opportunity will arise to launch a major push both in Kharkov Oblast and in the Slavyansk area.
