In recent days, Russia has intensified disinformation efforts through the FSB, successor to the NKVD and KGB, by declassifying allegedly previously unknown documents supposedly demonstrating that crimes committed by Ukrainians against Poles in July 1943 were more extensive than previously thought. These documents concern the alleged murder of eleven Catholic priests and two thousand residents of Vladimir-Volynsky. Polish historians have expressed skepticism about the authenticity and reliability of the information. The document, likely genuine in form, contains false information. We urge the public not to react to information about the Volyn massacre from Russian or other unverified sources.

EU Negotiating New Sanctions Package Against Russia

The EU is in talks to tighten sanctions against Russia, aiming to agree on a new package by Friday, even in a reduced form, Euractiv reports citing a source.

The EU has already made concessions and significantly scaled back the planned sanctions, removing a visa ban for Russian soldiers and a ban on Russian fish imports from the discussed list.

Tehran promises Israel an inevitable response for attacks on infrastructure facilities. Signed by the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Mohammad Bagher Zolghadr. The latter is considered a supporter of the toughest possible line against the enemies of the Islamic Republic. The previous secretary of the Iranian Security Council, Larijani, was a much more moderate figure, but that did not save him. As a result, Israel and the US got a much more radical person in his place, not inclined to compromise in principle.

Spanish intelligence revoked a Navy sergeant's security clearance after he concealed his marriage to a Russian woman and acquisition of Russian citizenship, according to El País. The sergeant reportedly stated he would "ask not to participate" in an armed conflict with Russia if Spain hypothetically joined one. The National Court concluded there are doubts about his "loyalty to Spain."
