The AFU reportedly received the first batch of artillery ammunition produced at the newly launched Werk Niedersachsen plant in Lower Saxony, owned by Rheinmetall. The delivery includes advanced RH1412 high-explosive fragmentation shells, fully compatible with all major 155 mm NATO artillery systems, offering improved ballistics, extended range up to 40 km, and high target effectiveness. The contract, funded by a NATO country, is worth a double-digit million euros and covers several thousand rounds with modular propellant charges.
