✅ Lok Sabha Passes 2 Bills Yesterday


1.The Registration of Births and Deaths (Amendment) Bill, 2026 was passed in the Lok Sabha, introducing stricter rules for delayed birth and death registration.

2.Constitution (130th Amendment) Bill, 2025 – Removing CM,PM, Ministers, If Arrested And remain in custody for 30 Days. (30 Days Is Imp)....

✅ Purpose: Seeks to mandate the resignation/removal of the Prime Minister, Chief Ministers, and Ministers if they are arrested and remain in custody for 30 consecutive days for an offence punishable with 5 years or more.

✅ Automatic Removal: If the PM/CM does not resign by the 31st day, they automatically cease to hold office. Other ministers can also be removed, with automatic cessation if no action is taken.

✅ Constitutional Changes: Proposes amendments to Articles 75, 164, and 239AA, extending similar provisions to Delhi, Jammu & Kashmir, and Puducherry. Reappointment is allowed after release or acquittal.

✅Objective: Prevent governance from jail, strengthen executive accountability, and curb the criminalisation of politics.
Concerns: Critics argue it may violate the basic structure doctrine, undermine the presumption of innocence, weaken federalism, and allow investigative agencies to indirectly remove elected governments.
