-Chairperson, One whole-time member, Up to seven part-time members.
-Members must be persons of eminence in nuclear energy.
-Tenure: 3 years, extendable up to another 3 years.

●Appeal: Atomic Energy Redressal Advisory Council then Appellate Tribunal for Electricity

●Core Role as per SHANTI ACT 2025
-Ensures nuclear and radiation safety.
-Sets radiation exposure limits.
-Issues safety authorisations and standards.
-Inspects facilities and monitors radioactive waste.
-Can suspend or cancel licences for safety violations.
