Always amusing to see people— sometimes neocons, sometimes liberal progressives—praise Singapore as a rich and prosperous multiethnic society.
They fail to take into account that Singapore was built and held together thanks to pure machismo and authoritarianism. Lee Kuan Yew said ‘there is no other way to rule a Chinese society’.
Speaking of a Chinese society, LKY also implemented strict policy to maintain the Chinese majority. This included slamming the door to refugees.
So according to the Singapore Simps, the key to creating a rich and prosperous country is to have a cold and calloused attitude towards ‘refugees’, intervene in immigration policy in order to ensure the majority status of a particular ethnic group, and rule with—not an iron fist but as LKY put it—a set of knuckle-dusters.
They undermine the point they think they’re making.

The Homeland Institute’s poll found relatively low support for National Divorce among respondents. While there are undoubtedly many factors behind this low support, an inability to envision creative solutions might be one of them.
We are therefore launching a series of case studies called New Nations, in which we will envision in concrete terms what several states or collections of states would look like as their own independent nations. We hope this will spark creative thinking and dispel arguments that secession is impractical.
Here is our first case study, The Republic of Texas:

A recent poll by the Homeland Institute of white American voters found that support for a national divorce was still relatively low. Only 25.4% of all respondents and 32.2% of Republican respondents agreed at least a little with the concept of a national…

The 'poverty exodus' will simply bring their poverty here. If these people can't create a functional country on their own, how will they do so here?

After National Divorce, only 35% of Dems & 23% of Libs in the Deep South (La, MS, AL, SC) say they'd stay
But more than 1/4 of blue-state Trump voters would move into red states, they say
22% of Dems & 14% of libs say they're not sure.
The above combines "liberals" and "very liberals" into one number. Considered separately, 26% of "liberals" and only 14% of "very liberals" would stay in the red states of the Deep South.
In a federation of red states, each state could have its own social policy, or groups of states could form a region within the federation to coordinate policy.
This would not be delegated to the central government.

A National Divorce gives people 2 options instead of 1: they can choose which country is preferable to them
This sorting is so advantageous that govs would probably defray relocation expenses
It reduces ethnic & ideological tensions

Dr. Greg Johnson’s take is more salient than ever. If the Palestinians are humans with rights, then what Israel is doing is genocide. If the Palestinians are “human animals” worthy of mass displacement as some Zionists claim, then they’re too dangerous to import to the West.
Not one more taxpayer dollar to Israel and not one refugee from Gaza is the only sensible America First policy position. No more “Bomb the third world, import the third world.”

It's a popular trend for leftist academics to deconstruct nationalism by pointing to it's recency. They point to examples of empires past to show that multiculturalism has been the norm for most of history. Rome is especially popular in this regard.
But what does Rome actually tell us about race, ethnicity and politics? Was there a "Roman nationalism" modern academics have overlooked? This question is the topic of my latest Substack:

Foreign Policy, Non-Interventionism, and the Draft
The Homeland Institute’s latest poll was inspired in large part by the ongoing Gaza crisis. It was conducted between late December, 2023 and early January, 2024. Related topics include the legacy of the Global War on Terror, the US’s relationship with Israel, and opposition to the draft.
Major findings are that:
Only 23.1% of all respondents and 30.2% of Republican respondents can think of a concrete example of Israel aiding American interests off the top of their head.
68.4% of respondents oppose direct intervention in the Gaza conflict with airstrikes or boots on the ground.
25.7% of respondents age 18-29 would oppose a draft through peaceful protest, and 16.9% through non-violent civil disobedience.
4.4% of respondents age 18-29 said they would oppose a draft through violence against government property, and 4.4% through violence against government officials.
The findings of this poll are particularly relevant given the recent US airstrikes on the Iranian-backed Houthis in Yemen, which risk escalating the Gaza crisis into a broader regional or even global conflict.

Mexico is attempting to blackmail the United States, and it is the American government's fault.
After more than 300,000 detected border crossings in December, Biden administration has been putting pressure on Mexico to intervene and stem the flow of migrants toward the US souther border.
And the Mexican government returned with a list of demands:
1. $20 billion in new development aid to Latin American and Caribbean countries
2. An end to the US blockade of Cuba
3. The lifting of sanctions against Venezeula
And 4. the legalization of 10 million more Hispanics already in the United States
There are a few interesting was to interpret this.
The first is that it is the United States job to defend its own sovereignty, but the Biden administration is clearly interested in speeding up the Great Replacement more than anything.
The second crucial aspect to this is that were the American state a self-confident and nationalist nation it would respond to Mexican blackmail with its own raft of policies such as block remittances, suspending the Mexican ability to purchase property in the United States and ceasing all forms of technology sharing.
Steps that would do significant damage to an uncooperative Mexico.
You can read more about the tools the US has at its disposal to force cooperation on the immigration front, but which the American elite choose not to utilize, here on our Substack.
